Student support services provides staff and services related to Homeless Education; Indian Education; counselor and social work assistance. The Office of Homeless Education facilitates the enrollment, attendance, and success of children and youth in transitional housing in the Sioux Falls School District. Funding for these services are provided by a federal grant through the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act. This Act mandates that homeless children and youth must have access to appropriate public education, including preschool, and be given a full opportunity to meet state and local academic achievement standards. Transportation - parents with questions / issues regarding transportation to or from school should contact child's school social worker. For additional support, contact Student Support Services.
