Rent Assistance at Salvation Army Sioux Falls, The
Provided to prevent evictions of current residence. Assistance is for rent only (not for deposits, first month's rent, or previous address). Assistance is for a one-time emergency situation only, not on a yearly basis.
Clients will be required to pay at least 10% of the amount due to receive assistance.
Clients must have tried seeking assistance from Minnehaha or Lincoln County Human Services prior to a caseworker visit. The client must provide:
- A Notice of Action from Minnehaha County or Lincoln County
- An eviction notice
- Proof of income
- Proof of income can include the following: Wages, self-employment, Child Support, Alimony, Social Security, SSI, SSI State Supplement, BIA GA, TANF-Food Stamps, Unemployment, Worker's Compensation, Section 8, Veteran's Benefits, Retirement, Pensions, Annuities, Dividends, Rental Income, Tribal Lease, Per Capita Income, Prizes, Money from Family or Friends, and/ or all other sources of income for all persons living in the home.
- Picture ID for all adults in the household
- Social Security numbers for everyone in the household
- Names and date of birth for all children in the household
