Services provided by this office are a last resort. If eligibility criteria are met, assistance may include burial assistance, medical expense assistance, utility assistance, and rent assistance.

Purpose is to help residents of Lead/Deadwood who call in to request assistance, or need referrals to deal with life's challenges. The phones are not manned 24/7. For immediate assistance, dial 911 (emergencies) or 211 (for information and referral).

Sanford Health Mitchell offers the following specialties: 3D mammography, colonoscopy, family medicine, health coaching, immunizations, internal medicine, laboratory, MRI, nephrology, neurosurgery, OB/GYN, orthopedics, pediatric cardiology, physical medicine & rehabilitation, pulmonology, ultrasound, vascular care, vascular surgery, walk-in and x-ray.

Provide assistance for individuals applying to receive Medicaid to meet the financial cost of Long-Term Care (LTC) services.

Providing mental health services, Positive Indian Parenting (parenting education for Native American parents), and court approved parent education classes for parents who are separated or divorced. Also provides custody evaluations, mediations, and Social Early Neutral Evaluations (SENE).

ICAP Children and Family Services include the following: Half Day Services: Eligible children ages 3 - 5 will receive 3 1/2 hours of center-based preschool, 4 days per week, September - May. (limited locations) EHS Home Based Services: A home visitor meets with eligible women who are pregnant and/or families with children under the age of 3 once per week for 1 1/2 hours (at a regularly scheduled time). Group socialization meetings are held twice per month. Child Development Center: Madison and Sioux Falls (ages 4 weeks - 3 years) can receive early childhood services and childcare each day year-round at ICAP's childcare center.

Provides physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy for individuals in need of rehabilitation. Please check with the location to see if provided. Must have a referral from a medical provider prior to evaluation and treatment depending on insurance requirements. The outpatient center is equipped to treat a wide variety of patients and diagnoses. There is also an occupational therapy driver's evaluation and training program available at the West 18th Street location.

Individualized treatment including psychiatric and psychological evaluations, individual, couple, and/or family therapy. Treatment services for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors include but are not limited to: Anxiety disorders Mood disorders Personality disorders Somatization disorders Psychosexual disorders Schizophrenia Post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD) Abuse issues Eating disorders Addictions Dementia Grief and loss Stress management Executive health Evaluation and treatment of childhood emotional and behavioral disorders including Attention-Deficit/Hyperactive Disorders (ADD/ADHD) Group therapy Psychological testing Neuropsychological testing Couples counseling These services are available via telemental health.

Provides Public Health Nursing and Maternal Child Healthcare Services through various programs. General public health services include professional nursing and nutrition information and guidance on health, safety, and nutrition for individuals, families, and communities. Services such as influenza vaccinations and screenings for blood pressure, hearing, vision, and hemoglobin are available at a fee. Maternal Child Healthcare provides Infant Sleep Safety services, immunizations, and pregnancy support services. Infant Sleep Safety services provide education on infant safe sleep practices and link families to resources when the purchase of a crib is a financial hardship. ​Immunizations services are available for children from birth through age 18 for all universally recommended vaccinations including influenza. The Vaccines for Children's Program provides vaccines for children who are uninsured, have insurance that does not cover vaccinations, are Medicaid eligible, or are Native American or Alaskan Native. For families with insurance coverage, the Department of Health is an in-network provider for Sanford, Avera/Dakotacare, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. ​Pregnancy Support Services include regular visits with a nurse to share information about pregnancy, to provide assistance in obtaining early and on-going prenatal care from a qualified healthcare provider, and to link women to resources they may need to support a healthy pregnancy. Teaching topics may include: how your body is changing and how your baby is growing; eating healthy and gaining the right amount of weight; warning signs or symptoms that indicate you should contact your doctor; breastfeeding education and support; and caring for you and your baby after delivery. The Watertown and Sisseton locations are also able to provide car seats for all ages at no cost.

A public health nutrition program for income-eligible infants and children up to age 5, pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women. WIC provides nutrition education to help make healthy eating choices, breastfeeding education for expectant and new mothers looking to learn more about their infant nutrition options, referrals to connect families with quality medical care and other community services, and food benefits to help families purchase nutritious groceries at participating businesses statewide.

Provides food, diapers, and school supplies to individuals in need of assistance.

Education for youth ages 10-18 and their respective families. Provides evidence-based curricula on personal responsibility, healthy relationships, healthy lifestyles, and reproductive health. Educates young people on both abstinence and contraception; and how each can prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.

Provides skilled nursing facility services with personalized rehabilitation plans including physical, occupational, and speech therapies to help residents regain strength and functionality. Offers short term rehabilitation, long term care, and respite services.

K-5 (Kindergarten through 5th Grade) provides care and programming outside of classroom hours in several locations in Sioux Falls, Brandon and Harrisburg. Activities are designed to meet each age level's academic, social and emotional needs. Signature programs offer additional options for character and leadership, health and wellness, sports and recreation and Education/STEM/Arts focus. Scholarships are available for families in need.

The United Methodist Church of Madison has a long-standing tradition of a free community meal every Monday night. This meal is open to all.

​Deadwood History, Inc. (DHI) hosts a family friendly event on Tuesday afternoons during the summer at Deadwood Outlaw Square from 1:00pm - 2:00pm.

Non-profit outreach ministry whose mission is to provide a mid-day meal for working adults in the city of Sioux Falls. Meals are distributed at The Banquet and The Banquet West.

The county may be able to assist with the following: Medical Assistance: for indigent residents of Lawrence County who do not have health insurance or any other means of paying medical bills. Economic Assistance: for rent, utilities, and burials. Rent and utility assistance may be approved once in a 12 month period.

Provides the following services such as substance use evaluations, DUI education, individual therapy, couples therapy, outpatient substance abuse treatment, gambling counseling/treatment, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Pharmacy services include immunizations, prescription refills, health screenings, and a medication disposal drop box. - Medication disposal drop-boxes for expired, unused or unwanted controlled, non-controlled, and over the counter medications, including pet medications. Items that are NOT accepted include: trash, regulated medical waste, sharps, syringes, thermometers, hazardous waste, aerosols, illicit drugs, or commercial waste.

Whether it's learning communication and problem solving skills, addressing infidelity, dealing with grief and loss or managing anxiety and depression - there is hope. Provides the following services: individual therapy; marital and couple's therapy; premarital; divorce; grief and loss; working through trauma from childhood abuse and neglect; family of origin; anxiety and depression.

Provides emergency assistance for those in either Minnehaha/Lincoln County with rent and deposits, Utility bills: Must have a disconnect notice for water, lights, or heating; Food and non-food items, Burial: Clients should begin by choosing a funeral home and meet with them prior to applying for assistance through Minnehaha County. Also provides transportation assistance, dental care, medical care (hospitalization) and Medications. Minnehaha County residents can also receive assistance with Shelter, Gasoline or bus ticket for transients/nonresidents stranded here and needing to get home. Out of town travel assistance is not offered to MC residents. Identification and or birth certificate (if needed for the purposes of obtaining employment/housing). The majority of assistance provided is in the form of a no-interest loan for which a lien is created. The client does not receive any bill from County but is expected to repay the debt, starting in a time frame created by the caseworker. Applicants can choose to walk-in to the office or receive a phone call to complete an interview. Those applying for transportation, medications or ID/BC assistance should come into the office to apply.

Offers the following services to the community: Clothing Closet (can be utilized once every 6 months except in special circumstances) and a Thrift Store (clothing available at all times for very reasonable prices). The store does sell mattresses and other furniture, when available.

​Individual, family, or group therapy for children, teens, and adults, who are victims or survivors or domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, or child abuse. Services offered include: EMDR; child therapy for children ages 5 and older; crisis counseling for individuals staying in shelter; on-going therapeutic counseling with a masters-level therapist. Telehealth available.
