Experienced in serving the Native American community, particularly in the areas of historical trauma and grief.

South Dakota Parent Connection is a statewide nonprofit organization that helps families, caregivers, and professionals access information, resources, and support for children and youth with disabilities, special health care needs, and developmental concerns. The organization provides free, confidential assistance to help families better understand educational, health care, and community systems. Staff members work alongside families to answer questions, provide information, and connect them with resources that can help meet their unique needs. Services include assistance with:

• Connecting with local, state, and national resources
• Understanding special education services, IEPs, and Section 504 plans
• Navigating disability-related programs and community resources
• Accessing information about health care and support services
• Preparing for school meetings and improving family-school communication
• Planning for life after high school and transition to adulthood
• Finding educational trainings, workshops, and learning opportunities

Programs include the following: Furnace Replacement - Replaced if furnace is unsafe, costs more than 50% of new furnace to repair, is outdated, or is not cost efficient. Lead Hazard Identification - E.P.A. certified staff that will refer to local resources. Weatherization - For homes or mobile homes includes, but is not limited to, windows, doors, sealing vents, etc.

Horizon Health - Faith is full-service medical clinic offering the following services - preventative screenings, acute care, chronic care management, well child visits, men's and women's health, immunizations, family planning, lab/x-ray, patient education, care management, DOT exams, after-hours access to care, and Certified Application Counselors for the Health Insurance Marketplace. Also offers behavioral health services: medication management, counseling, case management, integrated care, addiction services, and Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT). Horizon Health - Faith is also a partner with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Community Care Program.

Located on the Pine Ridge Reservation, it is an ambulatory care center with outpatient services. Services include primary care, pediatric, women's health, optometry, dental, behavioral health, podiatry, radiology, and laboratory tests.

The county may be able to assist with the following: Medical Assistance: for indigent residents of Lawrence County who do not have health insurance or any other means of paying medical bills. Economic Assistance: for rent, utilities, and burials. Rent and utility assistance may be approved once in a 12 month period.

Medical assistance programs include: ​Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP): Coverage includes such things as doctor, hospital, prescription drugs, counseling, dental and glasses. Insurance for children up to age 19 at no cost to the family if the income is below certain income levels found on the Federal Poverty Guidelines. If the family income is below 140%, the children may be eligible with or without private health insurance. If there is insurance, CHIP will pay the deductibles, co-insurance, and possibly some medical services not covered by the private insurance. ​Medicaid: Health care coverage for people who qualify. To be eligible for Medicaid, individuals must fall into a coverage group and meet certain financial and non-financial eligibility criteria. Provides help for older adults and people with disabilities.

Individual, group, and family counseling (ages 12 and up). Specializing anger management and domestic violence training/therapy, critical incident stress management, and all mental health conditions and addictions.

A weekly Community Banquet is offered on Thursday night. Open to anyone who wants to come. It is served by the churches, businesses and service groups in the Pierre and surrounding area.

Trauma Specialist certified in Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy and Certified School Counselor as well. Offering face to face counseling services as well as telehealth services.

A public health nutrition program for income-eligible infants and children up to age 5, pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women. WIC provides nutrition education to help make healthy eating choices, breastfeeding education for expectant and new mothers looking to learn more about their infant nutrition options, referrals to connect families with quality medical care and other community services, and food benefits to help families purchase nutritious groceries at participating businesses statewide.

Monument Health Spearfish Hospital offers extensive patient services centralized at one location which includes both the hospital and Spearfish Monument Medical Clinic. Services include emergency care: 24 hours a day / 7 days a week, diabetes care, heart & vascular care, home care, hospice, labor & delivery, laboratory services, medical imaging, OB/GYN, physical therapy & rehabilitation, prenatal care, surgery, swing-bed program, telemedicine, and serves as a medication disposal site.

Provides pharmacy services including: immunizations and vaccines, prescription refills, transfers, and disposal sites; pet Medications, Medicare assistance.

Keeping children safe by providing child safety seats at no cost to families that meet income eligibility requirements to ensure that they are in the best child seat for their height and weight until they are at least 4'9. At 4'9, most children can safely wear a seat belt. Current South Dakota law states that any operator of any passenger vehicle transporting a child under five years of age on the streets and highways of this state shall properly secure the child in a child passenger restraint system, and that the operator of a motor vehicle must make sure that a passenger who is at least five and younger than 18 must be wearing a properly adjusted and fastened safety seat belt system. If the belts don't fit properly, the operator must find another safety belt system to secure the child (SD Law 32-37). This program distributes child seats to income eligible parents and children statewide, by assessing financial need. The communities listed may have local distribution partners. Individual, couples and family therapy for all ages with a specialization in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Areas of focus include depression, anxiety, life transitions, post traumatic stress (PTSD), sexual abuse, grief, polyamory, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender population. Telehealth services available.

A back to school resource fair featuring vendor booths, games & activities, vaccinations, school physicals, and backpack distribution (for students K - 12). Lunch will be provided to all attendees.

Provides mental health and addictions assessments, early intervention, intensive outpatient treatment, and aftercare services for individuals, couples, and families. Providers treatment for concerns including addiction, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, adjustment, abuse, spiritual development, emotional management, stress management, family issues, grief, trauma, personality disorders, and relational issues. Offers in person services and telehealth services via Zoom. Services can also be provided via telephone. Clients are encouraged to check with insurance providers regarding coverage.

Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) is a supplemental food program that enables eligible households to obtain a more nutritious diet. Eligibility is determined by income, resources, and household size. Lost, stolen, or damaged EBT (SNAP) cards must call customer service to report the loss of your card. You will need to enter the card number. If you do not have the card, stay on the line for a second prompt and press 2. Reporting an EBT card as lost, stolen, or damaged will result in that card being declined.

Provides car seat installation and safety checks at any Sioux Falls Fire Station from 8:00am - 8:00pm (CT), Monday - Sunday. ​Individuals are encouraged to call 211 to register before arriving at a fire station.

Providing mental health services, Positive Indian Parenting (parenting education for Native American parents), and court approved parent education classes for parents who are separated or divorced. Also provides custody evaluations, mediations, and Social Early Neutral Evaluations (SENE).

Provides the food vouchers, prescription expense assistance (medicine only), vision expense assistance (eyeglasses and contacts), and personal care items (laundry soap, cleaning supplies, and hygiene items). Please note, prescription assistance is for those without insurance and it is for one time only! Personal care assistance is once in a calendar year.

Items that are NOT accepted include: trash, regulated medical waste, sharps, syringes, thermometers, hazardous waste, aerosols, illicit drugs, or commercial waste.
