Provides emergency assistance for those in either Minnehaha/Lincoln County with rent and deposits, Utility bills: Must have a disconnect notice for water, lights, or heating; Food and non-food items, Burial: Clients should begin by choosing a funeral home and meet with them prior to applying for assistance through Minnehaha County. Also provides transportation assistance, dental care, medical care (hospitalization) and Medications.
Minnehaha County residents can also receive assistance with Shelter, Gasoline or bus ticket for transients/nonresidents stranded here and needing to get home. Out of town travel assistance is not offered to MC residents. Identification and or birth certificate (if needed for the purposes of obtaining employment/housing).
The majority of assistance provided is in the form of a no-interest loan for which a lien is created. The client does not receive any bill from County but is expected to repay the debt, starting in a time frame created by the caseworker.
Applicants can choose to walk-in to the office or receive a phone call to complete an interview. Those applying for transportation, medications or ID/BC assistance should come into the office to apply.

Rapid City utility customers can apply for a reduction of their monthly utility charges through the Utility Rate Relief Program. The program is designed to lower the monthly utility expense for senior citizens and people with disabilities.
If qualified, the rates charged for all utility services billed to the applicant will be reduced by 25 percent for a period of two years or until the renewal date established by the Public Works Director. Applications are accepted at any time, but renewal requests must be received by April 30 of odd numbered years for participants to remain on the program.

Offers a variety of training opportunities for parents, babysitters, and child care centers/providers. Training and classes include personalized Childcare Provider Training, Babysitting Classes for Tweens aged 10-13, and Home Alone Class for children ages 9-13.
The Temperament Project can help better understand a child and can help choose appropriate techniques that fit a child's unique approach to life. Completing a Temperament Profile will give an individualized graph containing details of the child's characteristics in each of the 9 Temperament Traits. Located on a beautiful Glacial Lake, NeSoDak provides a safe place for youth to build relationships, develop new skills and live in a grace-filled community. NeSoDak specializes in summer youth programs, including 1-2-3 camps (two nights) for elementary youth, half-week and week-long camps for middle school through junior high youth, Servant Journey and adventures camps.
Klein Ranch -
Klein Ranch is a unique camp that offers youth the opportunity to begin to stretch their boundaries, and abilities, as they ride horses on 2,300 acres of Wild West ranch country. Campers can spend a week exploring the prairie on horseback and participating in other activities, such as hiking the mini badlands, having an overnight campout, playing games and more. Through the camp's small group community, youth strengthen their identity and gain depth in their faith. At Klein Ranch, youth also develop a sense of responsibility for themselves and for others as they care for the animals at the camp.
Outlaw Ranch -
Located amongst granite outcroppings in the southern Black Hills, Outlaw Ranch is open year round, offering summer youth camps, family camp, year round retreats for youth and adults, as well as hosting business gatherings and family reunions. Outlaw Ranch is known across the country for its top notch family camps, bringing youth and families together.

Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) is a supplemental food program that enables eligible households to obtain a more nutritious diet. Eligibility is determined by income, resources, and household size. Lost, stolen, or damaged EBT (SNAP) cards must call customer service to report the loss of your card. You will need to enter the card number. If you do not have the card, stay on the line for a second prompt and press 2. Reporting an EBT card as lost, stolen, or damaged will result in that card being declined.
