Areas of specialization include depression, anxiety, grief, parenting challenges, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), stress management, and issues related to trauma or abuse.

Provides Public Health Nursing and Maternal Child Healthcare Services through various programs. General public health services include professional nursing and nutrition information and guidance on health, safety, and nutrition for individuals, families, and communities. Services such as influenza vaccinations and screenings for blood pressure, hearing, vision, and hemoglobin are available at a fee. Maternal Child Healthcare provides Infant Sleep Safety services, immunizations, and pregnancy support services. Infant Sleep Safety services provide education on infant safe sleep practices and link families to resources when the purchase of a crib is a financial hardship. ​Immunizations services are available for children from birth through age 18 for all universally recommended vaccinations including influenza. The Vaccines for Children's Program provides vaccines for children who are uninsured, have insurance that does not cover vaccinations, are Medicaid eligible, or are Native American or Alaskan Native. For families with insurance coverage, the Department of Health is an in-network provider for Sanford, Avera/Dakotacare, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. ​Pregnancy Support Services include regular visits with a nurse to share information about pregnancy, to provide assistance in obtaining early and on-going prenatal care from a qualified healthcare provider, and to link women to resources they may need to support a healthy pregnancy. Teaching topics may include: how your body is changing and how your baby is growing; eating healthy and gaining the right amount of weight; warning signs or symptoms that indicate you should contact your doctor; breastfeeding education and support; and caring for you and your baby after delivery. The Watertown and Sisseton locations are also able to provide car seats for all ages at no cost.

Providing food assistance to the Aberdeen area through a variety of programs. They include: Lunch/Meal Share: All are welcome to come enjoy a meal Monday - Friday from 12:00pm - 12:30pm (CT). No cost to individuals although donations accepted. Food Pantry: A temporary 2-3 day grocery supply available to assist individuals or families in need. Can use once every 90 days. It is held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00am - 11:00am (CT) and Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment. Free Farmers' Market Table: Open to all community members to pick up fresh produce, food staples, bread, and sweets. This is held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays during regular business hours. Must provide initials and number of people in household at the reception desk. Come as needed but preferably only once a day.

The Council receives federal dollars that it then grants to other community agencies for projects benefiting people with developmental disabilities (DD), projects include funding for individuals with DD and their family members to attend workshops and conferences, Partners in Policy-Making, Youth Leadership Forum, SD Advocates for Change, and Information and Referrals.

The Closet in Flandreau (Moody County) has clothing and other household goods for persons who wish to use the store's services. If an income-eligible person or family cannot afford to purchase the clothing, the Community Service Worker in that county can provide a voucher that allows the person or family to get the clothing at no charge.

Outpatient mental health counseling center providing 100% free services to eligible Veterans, active duty service members, and their families. Part of the US Department of Veterans Affairs but separate from the VA Medical Centers, with separate and confidential medical records. Offering individual, group, and couples counseling both in Rapid City and at a number of Community Access Points in the Black Hills. Also, a referral service and can point Veterans in the right direction for any information they may need in terms of accessing benefits, enrolling in VA health care, etc. Specialty is helping Veterans readjust successfully into civilian life, and provides counseling for a wide range of problems, from mental health issues like PTSD, depression, and anxiety to life stressor issues such as work-related or relationship difficulties. Provides free bereavement counseling for loved ones of service members who died while on active duty or Veterans who died by suicide.

ICAP Children and Family Services include the following: Half Day Services: Eligible children ages 3 - 5 will receive 3 1/2 hours of center-based preschool, 4 days per week, September - May. (limited locations) EHS Home Based Services: A home visitor meets with eligible women who are pregnant and/or families with children under the age of 3 once per week for 1 1/2 hours (at a regularly scheduled time). Group socialization meetings are held twice per month. Child Development Center: Madison and Sioux Falls (ages 4 weeks - 3 years) can receive early childhood services and childcare each day year-round at ICAP's childcare center.

Weatherization is a service to assist individuals in providing energy efficient measures in their homes. A GROW South Dakota representative will conduct an energy audit on the home to determine what repairs are cost effective to increase energy efficiency and reduce the cost of utilities. Common repairs include: adding insulation in walls and attics, weather stripping doors and windows, minor repairs, and furnace repairs and replacements. Income guidelines determine eligibility.

Rapid City utility customers can apply for a reduction of their monthly utility charges through the Utility Rate Relief Program. The program is designed to lower the monthly utility expense for senior citizens and people with disabilities. If qualified, the rates charged for all utility services billed to the applicant will be reduced by 25 percent for a period of two years or until the renewal date established by the Public Works Director. Applications are accepted at any time, but renewal requests must be received by April 30 of odd numbered years for participants to remain on the program.

Services include counseling for couples, marriage, marriage preparation, parenting, family, adolescents, depression, anxiety, grief, anger, crisis management, decision making, male sex addiction, gambling addiction, self-esteem, adjustment, life/professional coaching. Therapies include CBT, solution-focused, emotionally-focused couples, person-centered, Biblical, and prayer. Offering telehealth sessions.

YFS Home-Based Head Start is a federally-funded, no-cost, parent-focused educational program that serves income-eligible families with children, birth to age 5, and expectant parents. YFS Home-Based Head Start strives to support parents as their child's primary educators and advocates. Degreed staff work with families in their homes to provide parents with tools and resources that increase their family's self-sufficiency and enhance their children's social skills and school readiness.
