Medical assistance programs include: ​Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP): Coverage includes such things as doctor, hospital, prescription drugs, counseling, dental and glasses. Insurance for children up to age 19 at no cost to the family if the income is below certain income levels found on the Federal Poverty Guidelines. If the family income is below 140%, the children may be eligible with or without private health insurance. If there is insurance, CHIP will pay the deductibles, co-insurance, and possibly some medical services not covered by the private insurance. ​Medicaid: Health care coverage for people who qualify. To be eligible for Medicaid, individuals must fall into a coverage group and meet certain financial and non-financial eligibility criteria. Child's Voice is a nationally accredited Child Advocacy Center that provides medical evaluations for children who may be victims of abuse and neglect. The primary goal of all children's advocacy centers is to ensure that children disclosing abuse are not further victimized by the intervention systems designed to protect them. Children are referred to Child's Voice by law enforcement, Child Protective Services and medical professionals. Child's Voice uses a multidisciplinary team approach to evaluate children with suspected child abuse and neglect. This means that law enforcement, child protection, medical professionals, counselors, state's attorneys and victim advocates all work together to coordinate an effective response for the child and their family. Child's Voice provides forensic interviews, medical exams, family consultations, and advocacy.

Cafe Coteau, located in the Children's Museum of South Dakota's atrium, serves a $5 community meal every Tuesday night. These meals are designed to bring the community together to share a simple, healthy, prepared meal at a low cost.

Habitat Homeownership offers qualified applicants the opportunity to purchase an affordable home. Applications are accepted during designated open enrollment periods only. There is no ongoing waiting list. Services are dependent on funding availability, volunteer capacity, and seasonal construction schedules. Project availability may be limited. The Sanford Mom2Be Center offers services to help pregnant people and their support systems find answers about pregnancy, labor options, and resources. Pregnancy preparation classes are offered online and in person from traditional labor and delivery classes to more tailored options to help you feel prepared and confident.

The average length of stay for residential treatment is twelve to fourteen months. The Special Education School Program specializes in the education and treatment of children with emotional and behavioral disorders. Initial assessment includes psychiatric evaluation, physical exam, nursing assessment, educational testing, family/social assessment, trauma assessment, and speech/language screening.
