Head Start is a comprehensive child development program designed to assist families and their children during the developmental years of 3-5 years of age. The program provides for health care services, educational services, and special needs services for the enrolled child and the opportunity for parents to be engaged in the decision making processes that affect their child's readiness for school. ICAP Children and Family Services include the following: Half Day Services: Eligible children ages 3 - 5 will receive 3 1/2 hours of center-based preschool, 4 days per week, September - May. (limited locations) EHS Home Based Services: A home visitor meets with eligible women who are pregnant and/or families with children under the age of 3 once per week for 1 1/2 hours (at a regularly scheduled time). Group socialization meetings are held twice per month. Child Development Center: Madison and Sioux Falls (ages 4 weeks - 3 years) can receive early childhood services and childcare each day year-round at ICAP's childcare center.

A public health nutrition program for income-eligible infants and children up to age 5, pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women. WIC provides nutrition education to help make healthy eating choices, breastfeeding education for expectant and new mothers looking to learn more about their infant nutrition options, referrals to connect families with quality medical care and other community services, and food benefits to help families purchase nutritious groceries at participating businesses statewide.

Long term case management program to help families move beyond crisis into stability and becoming self-sufficient. Families will be required to meet with a caseworker to design a plan to meet goals, needs and objectives (ex. goal setting, assistance getting healthcare, educational opportunities, etc).

Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a federally-funded, state-administered program. SFSP reimburses program operators who serve free healthy meals and snacks to children and teens in low-income, rural areas. Children 18 years and younger may receive free meals and snacks through SFSP. Some rural communities also offer meal pick-up or delivery. At most sites, children receive either one or two reimbursable meals each day. Certain camps and sites may be approved to serve up to three meals to each child, each day. The Freeman Food Pantry teams with Feeding South Dakota to provide access to canned & dried food items and some personal hygiene items. Visits are limited to 1/month.

The VA Surgery / Specialty Care Service Line includes the following services: Orthopedics, ENT, Gynecology, Urology, general surgery, Opthalmology, Podiatry, Audiology, Optometry, Dental, GI Endoscopy, and Proctology.

Provides a full range of primary healthcare services including physical exams, chronic disease management, acute illness management, physicals, well child exams, children/adolescent/men/women healthcare services, immunizations, telemedicine related to medical and mental health needs, certified laboratory services, All Women Count services, assistance with Marketplace insurance enrollment, and allergy injections. Some sites provide Department of Transportation physicals. Nurse triage available for after-hours calls. Situation will be assessed by a registered nurse with further guidance provided. Strives to meet the needs of all patients, including the underinsured and underserved and offers services at a reduced rate to those who qualify.

Provides the food vouchers, prescription expense assistance (medicine only), vision expense assistance (eyeglasses and contacts), and personal care items (laundry soap, cleaning supplies, and hygiene items). Please note, prescription assistance is for those without insurance and it is for one time only! Personal care assistance is once in a calendar year.

Individuals MUST go to one of the monthly distributions to receive services. Monthly distribution of household products (specifically diapers, laundry soap, toilet paper, and feminine hygiene products). Individuals/families can visit one of the following distribution locations, only once per month. This program does not offer deliveries.

Alcohol and Drug Program treatment approach is based on the 12-step program of Alcoholics Anonymous and reality therapy. Services offered include individual counseling, chemical assessments, DUI education program, outpatient treatment, prevention education program, and a relapse prevention group. Case Management and IMPACT Programs, designed to help clients with severe and persistent mental illness, services include case management and continued care, medication management with psychiatrist, crisis intervention assistance, and psychiatric rehabilitation which seeks to provide program services that assist clients in developing skills and manage resources needed to allow them to be successful in the community. A client centered, client directed form of treatment, the program consists of services designed to restore the disabled person to a level of functioning which permits a useful, meaningful life.
