Society of St. Vincent de Paul - Immaculate Conception attempts to provide assistance to those in need (within a 30-mile radius of Watertown) with rent/mortgage assistance, food assistance, cleaning supplies/hygiene products, gas assistance, and utilities assistance.

Provides free resources for families that have a child in the Sioux Falls School District during the school year. Services include food pantry, hygiene items, winter gear, socks and underwear, access to computer/internet, space to connect with social worker for assistance, and birthday closet. Services are not offered during the summer.

A private, non-profit, anti-poverty corporation whose purpose is to make a positive impact upon the causes and effects of poverty. This agency operates the following programs: Air Conditioners - Must be income eligible (125%), be signed up at the agency and have a medical statement stating they need an AC. Also cannot have received one in the last 3 years. Distribution is primarily in June of each year. Please call for an appointment. Medical Prescription Assistance - Financial assistance may be offered for those with a medical prescription. Medical Equipment Lending - Available for those in need of bathtub seats, shower and tub rails. Thrift Store - Low cost items with proceeds going to fund special projects. Open 10:00am - 2:00pm (MT), Monday - Friday.

To be eligible for Medicaid, individuals must fall into a coverage group and meet certain financial and non-financial eligibility criteria. Provides help for older adults and people with disabilities.

Provided to prevent evictions of current residence. Assistance is for rent only (not for deposits, first month's rent, or previous address). Assistance is for a one-time emergency situation only, not on a yearly basis. Clients must have tried seeking assistance from Minnehaha or Lincoln County Human Services prior to a caseworker visit. The EmBe offers a variety of youth programs including:

• Girls on the Run (3rd - 5th grade girls): An afterschool program that helps girls understand themselves, value friendships and teamwork and recognize how they can shape the world at large. Lessons focus on building social, emotional and physical skills while encouraging healthy habits for life. Each season concludes with a non-competitive 5K run.
• Heart and Sole (6th to 8th grade girls): A physical activity-based positive youth development program that develops life skills through dynamic interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K run. The program helps establish a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.

Taekwondo (beginning at age 3): A Korean martial art which teaches courtesy, self-control, integrity, perseverance and strong spirit. This program is organized to promote discipline, confidence and focus through taekwondo and other styles of martial arts. Taekwondo at Embe is offered .

• Youth Volleyball (3rd - 6th grade): Providing an opportunity to learn the skills of the game in a recreational, non-competitive, environment. EmBe and Kairos Elite Volleyball Club with Avera Sports collaborate to a provide a seamless experience that fits each child. 10-week leagues are available in the fall and winter. A four-week league is offered in the summer.
• Babysitting Classes (11 - 15 years old): Designed for youth who want to gain knowledge and experience before entering the world of babysitting. Topics covered include what is expected from infants to school age children, activities to do with children of all ages, basic first aid and safety skills, when to ask for help, questions to ask before you agree to baby sit and experiential learning in EmBe's Childcare Center

Camp GOTR (Girls On The Run) (rising 3rd - 5th grade girls): A 4-day camp provides an opportunity for girls to build friendships while enjoying interactive games, physical activity, and creativity through arts and crafts and storytelling. Provides a unique opportunity for all girls, including those with a disability, to develop self-confidence, have fun with friends, and learn life skills. Participation in Girls on the Run during the school year is not a requirement for Camp GOTR..

Counseling for individuals, couples, groups, and families for all ages. Other services include play therapy, psychological assessments just for children under 12 years of age, psychotherapy, relationship counseling and limited neuropsychological assessments. This office is able to provide telehealth to anyone in the state of South Dakota. There is paperwork that must be completed and signed prior to the first appointment.

A maternal program providing specialized case management to pregnant women with substance and opioid use disorders by equipping them for successful recovery before and after the birth of the child.

The Sioux Falls School District will be providing free breakfasts to any child ages 1-18 from Thursday, May 28, 2026 - Friday, August 7, 2026.There will be no meals served on Friday, July 3, 2026. Note: All meals must be consumed on site and not taken out for consumption. Sioux Falls School District follows all regulations according to the Summer Food Service Program Guidelines. Family Visitation Center (FVC) is available to parents and their children as a resource for families seeking a wide range of services in the process of custody and visitation litigation. The safety and comfort of the child is of utmost importance. Services include supervised visitation, supervised phone calls, safe exchanges, common sense parenting classes, and responsive parenting classes.

A youth organization that provides a safe place for kids to go after school and during the summer on week days. Members participate in a variety of activities such as homework help/tutoring, organized sports programs, Youth for Unity, Teen Center, and guided activities on character and leadership, education and career skills, and healthy living/active lifestyles. An independent non-profit Christian agency licensed by the Department of Social Services in the states of Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota providing pre- and post-placement counseling, support and services for birth parent(s) and adoptive parent(s), and Hague and non-Hague home study services.
