Keeping children safe by providing child safety seats at no cost to families that meet income eligibility requirements to ensure that they are in the best child seat for their height and weight until they are at least 4'9. At 4'9, most children can safely wear a seat belt. Current South Dakota law states that any operator of any passenger vehicle transporting a child under five years of age on the streets and highways of this state shall properly secure the child in a child passenger restraint system, and that the operator of a motor vehicle must make sure that a passenger who is at least five and younger than 18 must be wearing a properly adjusted and fastened safety seat belt system. If the belts don't fit properly, the operator must find another safety belt system to secure the child (SD Law 32-37). This program distributes child seats to income eligible parents and children statewide, by assessing financial need. The communities listed may have local distribution partners. M-2 Program is a man-to-man visitation program that provides one-to-one visitation with an inmate at the South Dakota State Penitentiary.

Strives to help county residents facing a possible financial crisis resolve the issue and prevent future financial problems first through Case Management, especially for people who are homeless or at risk to be homeless. Services include assessing the situation and making a plan to address the issues, connecting families and individuals to community resources, and following up with individuals to provide support. Provides limited financial assistance as a last resort for those considered indigent and are residents of Codington County. The office may be able to help with homelessness, eviction prevention, utility disconnects, burials (must be referred by the funeral home), and emergency medical costs. CCCS is leading new initiatives which include RESTART: Support for individuals in the justice system such as adult diversion, defense attorney support, pretrial services, re-entry support, and a Post Overdose Response Team.

The program assists with household heating costs for propane and fuel oil July 1 - April 30. For electric and gas, meter readings October 1 - May 15 are eligible for payment. Energy funds are distributed on a first come first serve basis. Applications received after March 31 will be processed for the next heating season. The program is designed to provide a supplemental payment to the primary heating cost of a home. Eligibility and assistance amount is based on household income, heating type and region, and number of persons in household. In heating crisis situations, such as disconnect for primary heating source, refusal to deliver or cash on delivery, eviction (if heat is included in rent), or furnace problems, contact the office for emergency assistance. Pharmacy services include immunizations, prescription refills, health screenings, and a medication disposal drop box. - Medication disposal drop-boxes for expired, unused or unwanted controlled, non-controlled, and over the counter medications, including pet medications. Items that are NOT accepted include: trash, regulated medical waste, sharps, syringes, thermometers, hazardous waste, aerosols, illicit drugs, or commercial waste.
