TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) is a temporary public assistance work program administered by the Department of Social Services in partnership with the Department of Labor and Regulation. It is designed to provide temporary assistance and build economic self-sufficiency for children and families. Eligibility and income guidelines are available by phone or by visiting the website.

Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) is a supplemental food program that enables eligible households to obtain a more nutritious diet. Eligibility is determined by income, resources, and household size. Lost, stolen, or damaged EBT (SNAP) cards must call customer service to report the loss of your card. You will need to enter the card number. If you do not have the card, stay on the line for a second prompt and press 2. Reporting an EBT card as lost, stolen, or damaged will result in that card being declined.

​Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity Restores accept donations of overstocked, discontinued, new and used building materials donated by manufacturers, stores, contractors and individuals. These donated items are sold to the public to help serve individuals and families with affordable housing solutions. Please note regarding air conditioners - there may be window ac units for purchase, however these are donated units. There is no income based scale/program to receive a discount on these units.

A monthly ecumenical worship service with children's activities. Each service is hosted by a ministry partner. Worship is followed by a community meal/picnic. Provides outpatient mental health and substance abuse services, inpatient substance abuse services, and medication management, both in person and via telehealth. Home-based children's services are available to families with a child or children that meet eligibility criteria living in Chamberlain and the surrounding communities.

Chronic Disease Self-Management Workshop: workshop designed to improve the self-management skills of people living with ongoing health issues. Chronic Pain Self-Management Workshop: workshop designed to help participants live a healthy life with chronic pain by managing their symptoms. This is a virtual training. Diabetes Self-Management Workshop: workshop designed for people with prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, a family history of diabetes, and caregivers. Walk with Ease Workshop: a 6-week community-based walking program designed to engage participants to maintain a successful waking program. Workshops include health education, stretching, and group or self-guided walking. Enhance Fitness: group exercise program that helps older adults improve strength, balance, flexibility, and cardiovascular health. Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention: exercise program designed to improve balance, reduce pain, and lower the risk of falls. Aging Mastery Program (AMP): 10-week program that helps older adults build their own playbook for aging well.

Provides primary LGBTQ+ health care for people up to the age of 21. This includes routine check-ups, sexually transmitted/HIV/pregnancy tests, and sexual health education. An in-house pharmacy is available as well as mental health counseling services. Dr. Amanda Diehl has more than 20 years of experience and trained on LGBTQ+ health care through the Fenway Institute's National LGBT Health Education Center. In addition, the entire staff has been trained to provide an affirming atmosphere for the LGBTQ+ population.

Those in need can find new and gently used items for a minimal cost. The store offers everything from furniture, household, and crafts items to clothing for men, women and children. Earnings from the store are used to directly assist those in need by helping pay rent, utilities, food, clothing, household, transportation for work and medical, prescriptions, and other necessities.

Provides quality home health care to residents of the Sioux Empire, Vermillion, and Chamberlain communities. Services offered include care for heart conditions, complex wound care, diabetes education and assessment, disease and symptom management, education on a newly diagnosed medical condition, home health aide, home infusion therapy education, home safety education, medication education, occupational therapy, pain management, pediatric care, physical therapy, postsurgical care, skilled nursing, speech therapy, and rehabilitation therapy while recovering from an orthopedic condition or hospital stay. They are most appropriate for individuals recently discharged from the hospital and are not fully recovered such as after surgery or new diagnosis, individuals recently diagnosed with an illness and needing education, and individuals who have a chronic condition that needs frequent clinical assessment such as diabetes, kidney, stroke, heart or lung disease.

Offers eye care services for individuals of all ages including diagnostic technology, eye examinations, contact lenses fitting, pediatric eye exams, InfantSEE exam, diabetic eye examinations, dry eye evaluation, emergency eye care, high risk medication monitoring, plus cataract, LASIK, and other post-operative surgical care. Eye care professionals will also help patients find eyewear that fits your face width, nose size, and eye size.

Providing health care and services to eligible women Veterans. Services include: primary care, gynecology services, infertility care, pregnancy care, contraceptive services, mammography, social work, mental health care, and care for menopausal issues.

Investigates child abuse and neglect cases by working with the State's Attorney, law enforcement, and community resources to determine extent of alleged child abuse or neglect. Other services include adoptions, licensing of foster homes, assessment services, case management, and intensive family services. Provides individual counseling for all ages, family counseling, anger management and evaluations, and mental health evaluations. Some areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, conflict resolution, behavior management, grief and loss, bullying relief, pain management, PTSD and other trauma related disorders.

Provides physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy for individuals in need of rehabilitation. Please check with the location to see if provided. Must have a referral from a medical provider prior to evaluation and treatment depending on insurance requirements. The outpatient center is equipped to treat a wide variety of patients and diagnoses. There is also an occupational therapy driver's evaluation and training program available at the West 18th Street location.

Comprehensive child development services through home-based, center-based options, includes developmental screening, written individual child development plans, weekly activities to promote child's development, and parent involvement program.

Services are provided within the patient's home. Includes non-skilled nursing care (e.g. foot care, general assessment, medication management, colostomy care, etc.), personal care (e.g. bathing, hair care, oral/mouth care, exercises, and medication reminders), and housekeeping (e.g. vacuuming, dusting, kitchen/refrigerator cleaning, bathroom cleaning, laundry, etc.). Provides skilled in-home physical, occupational, and speech therapy, as well as social work.
