A volunteer organization that relies on donations to provide supplemental food to those in need in our community. Offers distributions twice per month. For emergent needs outside the scheduled distribution, call and leave a voicemail.

Pharmacy services include immunizations, prescription refills, health screenings, and a medication disposal drop box. - Medication disposal drop-boxes for expired, unused or unwanted controlled, non-controlled, and over the counter medications, including pet medications. Items that are NOT accepted include: trash, regulated medical waste, sharps, syringes, thermometers, hazardous waste, aerosols, illicit drugs, or commercial waste.

The Health Cooperative is here to partner with patients to stay healthy and meet their health goals. An inter-professional team is available to offer early evaluations of adult health concerns. Also provides personalized self-care education that will assist patients in making healthier choices. This is not a replacement for a primary care doctor. Works alongside patients and their doctors to improve patient health. Team consists of registered nurses, a pharmacist, an occupational therapist, a physical therapist and a dietitian.

Provides emergency and/or transitional housing for adult victims and their children escaping domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. The shelter is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is a locked and secure facility equipped with cameras and an alarm system that allow direct contact to police dispatch. The goal is to provide for the safety or victims and their children as they escape the violence at home. Food for meal preparation, laundry facilities, and support services are available at the shelter.

Services provided for Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal areas including: prescheduled transit, same day, and punch rides. There are many transportation grant opportunities available through River Cities Public Transit (RCPT). Call for more information. RCPT coordinates with all other transit agencies in South Dakota and can facilitate a ride statewide. Also, is Jefferson Lines associated.

Provides full-service therapy directly to clients but also contracts with schools, medical clinics, government and other entities to actively work together on the same goals. Provides therapy in a natural setting where the child is most comfortable with a family-centered collaborative approach. This can be in the child's home, a clinical or daycare setting, or via teletherapy. The Bookmobile is dedicated to bring the library to those unable to come to one of the library branches. Bookmobile service is provided to children at schools and daycares in Minnehaha County. The staff also coordinates the Daycare Delivery Service in Sioux Falls. The Bookmobile is parked at the Crooks branch of the library and the staff there organize the program. Preschool services for children ages 3 - 5, as well as home visiting program to work on child development for pregnant women and children up to age 3. Programs include Head Start, Early Head Start, home visits and parental support.

The Parks and Recreation department manages the Mitchell Recreation Center and Indoor Aquatic Center, that provides fitness and recreational opportunities to the public as well as the outdoor aquatic center. The Parks and Recreation department also manages Lakeview Municipal Golf Course, an 18-hole municipal facility.
