A public health nutrition program for income-eligible infants and children up to age 5, pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women. WIC provides nutrition education to help make healthy eating choices, breastfeeding education for expectant and new mothers looking to learn more about their infant nutrition options, referrals to connect families with quality medical care and other community services, and food benefits to help families purchase nutritious groceries at participating businesses statewide.

Matches an elementary, middle, or high school student from area schools with an adult who can provide consistent support and friendship over the course of the academic year. Once a week for an hour mentors meet with a student on-site at a convenient time. Mentors and students enjoy a variety of activities together, such as working in the computer lab, playing board games, reading a book, playing basketball, or simply eating lunch together and talking.

Services include skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, personal care, dressing, medication assistance, lab draws, and home infusion therapy. Also specializes in providing home care after surgery.

If there is insurance, CHIP will pay the deductibles, co-insurance, and possibly some medical services not covered by the private insurance. ​Medicaid: Health care coverage for people who qualify. To be eligible for Medicaid, individuals must fall into a coverage group and meet certain financial and non-financial eligibility criteria. Provides help for older adults and people with disabilities.

The Department of Human Services Guardianship Program provides guardianship and/or conservatorship services as a last resort to qualified individuals age 18 or older with an intellectual or developmental disability as defined in SDCL 27B-1-18 or qualified individuals in the Long Terms Services and Supports program. The South Dakota Department of Human Services may be appointed as a guardian, a conservator, or both, for adults with developmental disabilities under its care or to whom it is providing services or financial assistance, but only if there is no individual, nonprofit corporation, bank or trust company, or other public agency that is qualified to serve, as defined in SDCL 29A-5-110, or qualified individuals in the Long Terms Services and Supports program. The department also provides financial assistance for qualified individuals who are willing and qualified to serve as a guardian and/or conservator of up to $1,500.00 for the establishment of a guardianship or conservatorship through the Guardianship Establishment Program. Limited amount of funds for this program are available each year on a first come first served basis for qualified individuals.

The Care Center is the hub of many resources at the Center of Hope. Services provided include computers and phone/fax which guests can use, at no charge, for resume and employment/job searching. ​Pastoral care is available for individuals to receive one on one counseling with the pastoral team, including getting connected with the Earn-Your-Way program. Children's Advocacy Center services, providing a medical evaluation for children, including a child forensic interview and comprehensive head-to-toe physical examination. Avera St. Mary's Central South Dakota Child Assessment Center's mission is to provide a strong multidisciplinary, cooperative team approach in order to better serve children who are victims of child abuse. Services are provided regardless of ability to pay.

Provides utility assistance, emergency medical expense assistance, election information, and voter registration.

Provides appropriate diagnoses of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) with technical assistance to aid with the implementation of clinic recommendations. The diagnosis will allow professionals and families to develop strategies to improve the educational and health outcomes for the person with FASD.

A recovery program based on the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous for those who want to stop their sexually self-destructive thinking and behavior. Sexaholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strength and hope with each other so that they may solve their common problem and help others recover. This program serves male and female youth with a primary diagnosis of substance dependency disorder. Treatment philosophy recognizes substance dependency as a chronic and progressive illness that can interfere with a person's growth from childhood to young adulthood. Treatment includes 12-step groups, Alcoholics Anonymous, and Narcotic Anonymous groups within a therapeutic setting. Treatment is completed in approximately 45 to 60 days.

Food pantry available to those in need up to 1 time a month for residents of Whitewood, St. Onge, and the surrounding area.

Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) is a supplemental food program that enables eligible households to obtain a more nutritious diet. Eligibility is determined by income, resources, and household size. Lost, stolen, or damaged EBT (SNAP) cards must call customer service to report the loss of your card. You will need to enter the card number. If you do not have the card, stay on the line for a second prompt and press 2. Reporting an EBT card as lost, stolen, or damaged will result in that card being declined.

Provides home care and nursing services to anyone 18 years or older who needs assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) due to illness, injury, disability, or aging. Services take into consideration spiritual, physical and emotional needs. Provides assistance to individuals with varying abilities to live as independently as possible through home care services, companion care, personal care, and in-home nursing care.

Provides the food vouchers, prescription expense assistance (medicine only), vision expense assistance (eyeglasses and contacts), and personal care items (laundry soap, cleaning supplies, and hygiene items). Please note, prescription assistance is for those without insurance and it is for one time only! Personal care assistance is once in a calendar year.

Home Health can help patients make a good transition from hospital to home, or receive the help and care they need at home. Services include physical and occupational therapy, medication management, wound care, IVs and central lines, personal care, light housekeeping and meal preparation.
