Teaching topics may include: how your body is changing and how your baby is growing; eating healthy and gaining the right amount of weight; warning signs or symptoms that indicate you should contact your doctor; breastfeeding education and support; and caring for you and your baby after delivery. The Watertown and Sisseton locations are also able to provide car seats for all ages at no cost.

Items that are NOT accepted include: trash, regulated medical waste, sharps, syringes, thermometers, hazardous waste, aerosols, illicit drugs, or commercial waste.

Mommy's Closet is a safe place for parents or other caregivers to come and problem solve issues surrounding parenting, housing, education, employment, and general finances. Foster parents, grandparents and other caregivers are eligible to receive assistance for children in their care. Mommy's Closet caseworker can provide case management and client support to families to help them: identify barriers to self-sufficiency, assist them to create success plans, provide guidance to families as they stabilize their lives, and provide referrals for additional assistance.

The Ready to Start program is for children who are eligible for kindergarten but have not had access to pre-kindergarten services or have demonstrated a need for additional services prior to their first day of school. That may include children who were on the Head Start waiting list, who tested below basic skills on their kindergarten screening, or who may not be ready developmentally for kindergarten but will enroll due to cost savings associated with childcare. Ready to Start runs four half days per week for five weeks just prior to the start of the school year. Ready to Start classrooms include 15 students with one teacher and one assistant. Because consistent attendance is critical for the children, transportation is provided.

The Closet in Flandreau (Moody County) has clothing and other household goods for persons who wish to use the store's services. If an income-eligible person or family cannot afford to purchase the clothing, the Community Service Worker in that county can provide a voucher that allows the person or family to get the clothing at no charge.

Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) is a supplemental food program that enables eligible households to obtain a more nutritious diet. Eligibility is determined by income, resources, and household size. Lost, stolen, or damaged EBT (SNAP) cards must call customer service to report the loss of your card. You will need to enter the card number. If you do not have the card, stay on the line for a second prompt and press 2. Reporting an EBT card as lost, stolen, or damaged will result in that card being declined.
