A needs-based pantry that provides food, winter clothing, and school supplies to local and surrounding small town residents.

Each conference seeks to serve the gaps in services in the communities they serve. Friends in need may be offered referral to other agencies, advocacy, or direct assistance which may include utility bill and rent assistance payments, clothing or pharmacy to meet basic, immediate needs.

Provides supplemental food items to those struggling with grocery expenses. Personal hygiene items may be available on a limited basis.

Providing free lunch for children 18 years old or younger. Meals on Wheels Western South Dakota are funding lunch at no charge for seniors (60+) accompanying their grandchildren. ​The Black Hills Area Community Foundation will fund lunch for adults (19-59 years old) accompanying their children. Meals are either a hot or cold lunch including a grain, protein, fruit/vegetable, and milk. This institution is an equal opportunity provider. All sites will be closed Wednesday, July 1 - Friday, July 3rd, 2026. Please note: sites and times may change with little notice due to weather, participation, or other circumstances. Food giveaway, once a month. Distributes food for which income guidelines apply (this institution is an equal opportunity provider). Community meal also served on the day of the food giveaway.

The Freeman Food Pantry teams with Feeding South Dakota to provide access to canned & dried food items and some personal hygiene items. Visits are limited to 1/month.

Rural Office of Community Services, Inc offers the following basic needs services:

• Emergency Rental Assistance

Must be behind (i.e.: if rent is due on the 5th, come for assistance after the 5th). Eviction notice is not required, however, there will be a form the landlord needs to complete the verify rent is past due.

• Emergency Utility Assistance

Must be behind AND have disconnection notice. Employment Program Food Vouchers Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Public Transportation Pass Program

• Security deposit or first months rent

Provides the food vouchers, prescription expense assistance (medicine only), vision expense assistance (eyeglasses and contacts), and personal care items (laundry soap, cleaning supplies, and hygiene items). Please note, prescription assistance is for those without insurance and it is for one time only! Personal care assistance is once in a calendar year.

Provides food and emergency items such as hygiene items, clothing, cookware, and other items.

Assists individuals and families with a food pantry and food box. Food Boxes can be picked up every 31 days. Serves a community meal over the lunch hour. Individuals can dine-in or to-go boxes are available.

Beresford Faith in Action serves individuals and families in need with Food Pantry, Crisis Fund (1 time / year) depending on availability of funds - Rent (can include rent or deposit); Utility assistance including: deposit, past due bill, and disconnect notices for trash, water, lights, and heating; and help with budgeting/financial planning. Backpack School program - weekend food for Beresford School students. Faith in Action also networks clients with other organizations/ resources that may help them with their situation.

Providing a safe, culturally grounded space for Native Youth in Rapid City to foster healing, health, and wellness while building self-determination and strengthening life skills. Center Amenities and Services offered include daily meals and snacks, food/hygiene pantry, access to shower and laundry facilities, social and recreational activities (e.g. basketball and volleyball courts, gaming area, and computer lab), Creative Arts (i.e. on-site recording studio, arts and crafts room), Life Skills Workshops, Homework Help, Tutoring, and an on-site K-12 homeschool option. Additional programs offered include a Street Outreach Team that connects homeless or at-risk youth to basic necessities and Resource Navigators to connect youth and families with vital services ---mentorship, obtaining personal identification documents, pursuing employment opportunities, and/or finding emergency shelter/stable housing.

Provides assistance for electricity, water, food vouchers, and emergencies.

Provides weekly food to residents in need.

Services include spiritual services, utility bill expense assistance (on individual case basis), rent payment assistance (on individual case basis), mortgage payment assistance (on individual case basis), clothing, shelter, emergency services, character building programs, and offer some hotel assistance if funding allows. Please note - there is no physical homeless shelter, but shelter may be provided in the form of a hotel voucher (if funding is available).

Provides a community food pantry that distributes groceries and basic food items to individuals and families in need in the Sioux Falls area. Food is available during scheduled distribution hours.

Provides supplemental food items once a week during the school year for students enrolled at Huron Public Schools, Holy Trinity, Huron Head Start, Iroquois, and Wolsey-Wessington. Registration is recorded and distribution taken care of at local schools. Contact child's school office for more information.

Helping people identify long term situations that lead to assistance requests and to walk along side them as they bridge out of those situations. Provides assistance for those in the Whitewood area only (cannot assist individuals from Spearfish or other areas). Services provided might include utility payments on a case by case basis, clothing, food, gas, financial education, training and education assistance, and micro-loans (0% interest) for rent deposit; amount must be repaid. Provides an evening meal for those in need. Meals will be served out of the Nightwatch Van. Meal delivery services are not available.

A youth and community center serving the community of Allen. Meals are provided and children have a small library, games, and computer. The center hosts many classes and programs with learning opportunities for everything from Lakota art, music, building rockets, archery, hand games, horse camps, summer camps, and daily living skills. There is a community laundromat and food pantry open to the community.

Elder Angel Funds are available through a short application process to help low-income senior citizens with everyday expenses such as utilities, groceries, clothing, medical co-pays, prescriptions, etc.
