Provides bags of supplemental food to food insecure children in the Vermillion school district area during the school year. Arrangements can be made for the Backpacks (pre-packed food sacks) to be picked up at the child's school (Headstart - High school), or food can be packed at Tanager Take Out (located at the Community Connection Center).

Provides food to those who are food insecure in the Yankton School District through two programs: - The Sack Pack Program provides packs on a weekly basis to school aged children in need of food over the weekend. Families register for Sack Pack at the beginning of the school year. The school staff help distribute the packs. - The School Food Pantry is open to any families that are food insecure with children attending school in the Yankton school district. The pantry is open once a month usually on the 1st Tuesday of the month.

Holiday Meal Boxes are boxes of food that consists of a meat choice (e.g. turkey breast, ham, or pork loin) and the sides to go with the meal. Sides include stuffing, instant and fresh potatoes, gravy, canned green beans, corn, and yams, apples, carrots, and pumpkin pie. Registration is required to receive a meal box. The registration deadline is Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Limit of one box per household. Meal Box pick-up will be held at the Community Connection Center starting Monday, December 2 - Sunday, December 22, 2024 during regular business hours of the Vermillion Food Pantry.

PACH works with the schools in Codington County to provide easy to prepare weekend meals and snacks during the school year. Also, provides a monthly food box for the summer (parents need to pick these up).

Assists children and youth in Brookings County who may not have food on the weekends by providing easy-to-prepare meals and snacks throughout the school year and summer months. No financial guidelines to provide and all ages from Head Start through Senior High are eligible. Food is distributed through the schools on Fridays and is available for pick up in the summer.

Snacks are provided to the youth. The Club is open year round with a summer program that provides a safe, fun place for children. Benefits include swimming lessons, outdoor activities, and hands-on reading, math, science activities (STEM) to keep young minds engaged out of school and lessen the summer learning gap.

To assist children and youth in the Pierre and Fort Pierre Public Elementary Schools who may not have enough food to eat at home by providing them with easy-to-prepare weekend meals and snacks throughout the school year when no other feeding program is available. Families must register through their school.

The Community Connection Center (CCC) is a one-stop-shop that addresses the needs of Vermillion community members by coordinating the efforts of local organizations. The CCC is a networking hub that houses a full range of community services designed to enhance the lives of children, families and communities, including United Way of Vermillion, Evan Project Diaper Bank, Vermillion Food Pantry, Salvation Army Emergency Fund, Welcome Table, Tanager Takeout/Weekend Backpack Program, Back to School Backpack Program, VITA, ROCS Outreach, and Allen's Bed Bank.
