Must reach out to other non-profit organizations in town prior to reaching out. Provides limited emergency financial assistance as a last resort for those considered indigent and are residents of Brookings County. The office may assist if an individual is behind on rent or utilities, or needs prescription medications that insurance doesn't cover, emergency medical expenses, county burials and funerals. They also help with vision referrals to the Lions Club. Individuals must reside in Brookings County to be eligible for services. Assistance is not free, any assistance granted will be liened by Brookings County and will be required to pay back.

Providing assistance to those in need. May be able to help with rent, utilities, clothing, furniture, household items, car repair or transportation. Assistance is provided on a case by case basis following an in-home visit. No assistance is available for temporary lodging.
