Provides ongoing training and technical assistance to adults who are involved in day-to-day care of young children and offers services to support parents, child care providers, teachers and others involved in early care and education of children birth -12 years of age. Services include: Face-to-face and online early childhood education on issues such as child development, age appropriate activities, effective guidance, program management, and CPR/First Aid certification. Resource lending libraries with information on social emotional observations, recommendations and guidance for children using difficult behaviors. Host site for the South Dakota Child Safety Seat Program Coordinates the Starting Strong Preschool scholarship program, the Responsive Parenting class, Child Development Associate credentialing and other programs.

CHOICES Residential Services program serves adolescents and adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and behavioral/emotional or psychiatric disorders. Components of the program include residential services, independent living training, educational services, and therapeutic and psychiatric services (individual and group therapy).

Families are linked with resources such as prenatal, postpartum, and pediatric medical care, family planning services, mental health services, job training, literacy services, employment opportunities, housing, substance abuse treatment, early childhood assessment and intervention opportunities, and other community resources

Telecommunication Adaptive Devices: Provides adapted telecommunication services, which includes an emergency phone dialer. American's with Disabilities Act: Serves as educators and consultants for contractors, businesses, organizations, and individuals regarding the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and its guidelines and requirements. Assistive Daily Living Services: Provides services for people ages 18 and older, with physical disabilities affecting all four limbs, who need assistance with daily living activities. Services include program education and support and personal attendant services. Home Again South Dakota: Provides options for older adults and/or people with disabilities living in nursing homes, hospitals, or long-term care facilities to enable them to successfully return to their homes and communities. Helps individuals identify barriers to living on their own, helps them find a place to live that meets their needs, and helps them find the services and supports they need to continue living independently.

Head Start is a comprehensive child development program designed to assist families and their children during the developmental years of 3-5 years of age. The program provides for health care services, educational services, and special needs services for the enrolled child and the opportunity for parents to be engaged in the decision making processes that affect their child's readiness for school. A mental health therapist is also available to provide individual and family therapy to the clients.

Loving School at Sioux Falls Children's Home and Owen School at Black Hills Children's Home serves students ages 4-14, in grades PreK through 8th grade, including children in the Sioux Falls and Black Hills Residential Treatment Program. Specializes in meeting educational needs relating to childhood trauma, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, reactive attachment disorder, abuse and neglect, anxiety disorder, aggression, and parent-child challenges. Students receive individual and group therapy at a minimum of 2 hours per month and have access to medical care and psychiatric services, as needed. A student does not need an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) to be enrolled in Children's Home Society schools. If a student does have an IEP, the IEP is implemented and managed by Loving School staff or Owen School staff. Each student's treatment team meets quarterly to share progress and monitor treatment goals. Occupational Therapy and Speech/Language services are available as prescribed by an IEP.

Providing culturally relevant home-based support for American Indian families, including expecting moms, fathers, infants, and young children ages 3 - 5. The program includes home visits using evidence-based cultural lessons, helping families set goals to meet their needs, and providing screenings for parents and children.

LifeScape's Fisher Coon Unit is an 18-bed specialty hospital that offers post-acute care to patients from birth through age 21. The unit has two programs: Medically Complex and Inpatient Rehabilitation. Medically Complex Program This program is for patients with significant medical needs who do not require continuous acute care. The high nurse-to-patient ratio allows every child to receive individualized attention. Medically Complex Services IV therapy Nutritional therapy via gastrostomy, jejunostomy, NG or NJ Palliative care Respiratory therapy Tracheostomy care Skilled nursing observation following casting or surgeries Suctioning, oxygen administration Ventilator use and weaning Inpatient Rehabilitation Program This program serves children needing rehabilitation after accidents, illness, or surgery. Stays are typically short-term for intense rehabilitation to assist the patient in returning to their previous level of function.

A national program that promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, social and other services to enrolled children and their families. Provides appropriate diagnoses of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) with technical assistance to aid with the implementation of clinic recommendations. The diagnosis will allow professionals and families to develop strategies to improve the educational and health outcomes for the person with FASD.
