Genesis is a program designed to help low-income families or individuals become more financially self-sufficient. Participants are partnered with a case manager and trained volunteer mentors to focus on goal setting, budgeting, and lifestyle changes their goals require for a year. Mentors work with Genesis participants during an 18-week period to help them: set personal goals, increase financial knowledge; set and maintain a household budget, and pursue life changes needed to achieve their goals. After the first 18- weeks are completed, participants will continue to work towards their goals with the guidance of the Genesis Program Manager until they complete a year in the program. To qualify for the program, participants must have an adequate source of income to maintain their household; desire to make the lifestyle changes needed to retain their household; committed to meet with a case manager and volunteer Mentors who will assist them as they complete an 18-week financial literacy program and work on parenting or other daily living skills their personal goals require. Offers practical classes on topics such as finances, parenting, Christianity, nutrition, and marriage. These classes will provide incentives for people when homework is completed and life goals are achieved. Each Spring and Fall quarters are at a different partnering church. Life INC classes are held Thursday evenings and provide a free meal as well as a free children's ministry/care.

LIHEAP (Low Income Heating and Energy Assistance Program) Heating, cooling, weatherization and crisis assistance for tribal members within Pine Ridge Tribal Land. CSBG (Community Service Block Grant) Limited household assistance for self-sufficiency, homelessness, medical, emergency travel, youth and community activities.

Financial Assistance: Utility Assistance for past due and disconnection notices including water, lights, and heating. To be screened for utility assistance or for information about current eligibility guidelines, please call 605-342-0982. Non-Financial Assistance Programs: Food Pantry: For those needing assistance with food. Clothing Vouchers: For those needing assistance for Clothing. Assistance may only be given 1 time for every 3 months. Household Boxes: For those needing assistance with items used to cook and eat a meal. A lease must be shown to the caseworker in order to receive assistance. Assistance is limited according to what is available at the time. Pathway of Hope: Program for eligible families. Long term case management program to help families move beyond crisis into stability and becoming self-sufficient. Families will be required to meet with a caseworker to design a plan to meet goals, needs and objectives (ex. goal setting, assistance getting healthcare, educational opportunities, etc).
