Paint the Town | NeighborWorks Dakota Home Resources

Designed to help elderly, disabled, or low income homeowners have the exterior of their home painted. The program occurs annually in June, applications are due March 31. This program is in partnership with SD Housing Development Authority.

Home Building/Restoration and Help Build It Center | Hub Area Habitat for Humanity

Builds homes for people in need: Habitat for Humanity builds houses in partnership with volunteers and people in need and then sells the homes to those people in need, known as partner families. Partner families are selected by Habitat based on: their need for housing; their willingness to partner with Habitat; and the ability to pay a 0% interest mortgage. Assists in restoration on exterior of existing homes for people in need: Volunteers (including youth groups), are organized and recruited by Hub Area Habitat for Humanity to assist with the following projects for income eligible homeowners including: Exterior painting or siding, Minor exterior home repairs, or Yard work including: weeding, trimming shrubbery, raking leaves (yard rehabilitation, not lawn mowing). This does not include tree trimming of taking down a tree. Help Build It Center: a store where items can be donated and purchased at discounted prices. Items consist of: light fixtures, bathroom fixtures, furniture, appliances, carpet, wood and tile flooring, windows and doors, paints and stains and other miscellaneous home goods.

New Home Construction | Brookings Area Habitat for Humanity

BAHFH offers an opportunity of homeownership to families that otherwise couldn't afford to purchase one on their own. Applicants must have a need for better housing, the ability to pay an affordable mortgage and willingness to partner with Habitat for Humanity through our "sweat equity" program. Habitat provides homeowners with financial and homeownership counseling, opportunities to work on their own home, and homeownership with a payment they can afford.

Home Repair and Ownership Assistance | Mitchell Regional Habitat for Humanity

Brings volunteers, contractors, families, and community members together to provide safe, affordable housing and home repairs for qualified low-income families. Home Repair Project: helps homeowners with exterior repairs including handicap accessible upgrades, fixing doors and windows, painting, replacing siding, and fixing out of control landscaping. Habitat Homeownership: Offers the opportunity for qualifying families to become homeowners. Applications are only accepted when enrollment is open. There is no waiting list for the program. Home Renovations | Brookings Area Habitat for Humanity

​ Offers 3 services to help homeowners stay in their homes longer and with dignity: Home Essential Repairs - Interior repairs program allows homeowners to resolve interior issues that affect the livability of their homes. Examples of repairs include accessibility ramps, and other accessibility issues, plumbing repair, electrical repair and HVAC repair. A Brush With Kindness (ABWK) - ABWK helps low-income homeowners who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes, allowing them to reclaim their homes with pride and dignity. ABWK helps revitalize the appearance of the neighborhood, strengthens connections within the community and helps preserve affordable housing stock. Aging in Place - Partner with families, communities and local organizations to help order adults improve their homes and their quality of life so they can flourish where they live.

Home Repair | Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity

Provides repair services to homeowners so they can continue to live in safe, decent homes. Home repair work might include: critical preservation repairs, modifications, home maintenance, and increased energy efficiency. FYI - No emergency repair services available.
