Offers a wide variety of activities for people of all ages to participate in the City of Pierre. These include Arboretum, Brandt's Pond Park, Devine Park, Farm Island Recreation Area, Griffin Park, Harrison Park, Hilger's Gulch Soccer Fields, La Framboise Island Nature area, LaBarge Park, Mickelson Pond, Oahe Softball Complex, Pierre Community Dog Park, Pierre Community Garden, Pierre Community Garden, PILC Soccer Complex, Hollister Field, Steamboat Park, and the Pierre Area Youth Skating Association. Amenities vary by each park and include playgrounds, picnic shelters, basketball court, sand volleyball, baseball field, softball field, track field, skate park, tennis court, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, disc golf course, and open skating.

Provides recreation activities to the citizens of Vermillion through the parks and trails system, recreational facilities, meeting and event space, Bluffs Golf Course, and Prentis Park Pool including swim lessons, swim team practices and meets, and free wading pool. Area parks are maintained by local organizations in the Philip area. They include Fire Hall Park, HCYW Kiddie Park, Lake Waggoner, Campground, Lasting Legacy Monument, Rodeo Grounds, School House Park, Senechal Park, Shooting Range, and Veterans Memorial Park.
