Many children love the fun of attending summer camps, and children with special physical or medical challenges are no exception.Sanford Children's provides camps designed for children with specific challenges or illnesses. All camps take place at barrier-free locations and are staffed with Sanford Children's professionals to ensure children have a safe and fun experience. The 2026 Sanford Children's Summer Camps include Bring it On for children with cancer and pediatric cancer survivors, scheduled for June 21 - 27, 2026; and Spirit Camp for children diagnosed with spina-bifida set for July 12-18, 2026. Both camps will be held at Joy Ranch, eight miles northwest of Watertown, South Dakota.

Individual, group, couples, and family counseling for all ages. Issues covered included depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, anorexia, bulimia, healthy weight loss, grief, attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD), chronic pain, family separation, divorce, self-destructive behaviors, self-esteem, abuse issues, anger management, and/or any other mental health disorder including PTSD. ​Offering neuropsychological and psychological testing, biofeedback, eye movement desensitization (EMDR), and EAP (employee assistance program) services and training. ​Group therapy including borderline personality disorder treatment groups including STEPPS, STAIRWAYS, and STRIDES; Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) group; adolescent group; and pain management group.

An all volunteer organization which enables all families and other associated with an autistic, Asperger's or Pervasive Development Disorder to have access to support groups, meetings, and additional information and resources. South Dakota Parent Connection is a statewide nonprofit organization that helps families, caregivers, and professionals access information, resources, and support for children and youth with disabilities, special health care needs, and developmental concerns. The organization provides free, confidential assistance to help families better understand educational, health care, and community systems. Staff members work alongside families to answer questions, provide information, and connect them with resources that can help meet their unique needs. Services include assistance with:

Bone Marrow Transplant Support Group - For individuals that have gone through or may be undergoing a transplant. Cancer Caregiver Support Program - Open to all caregivers who care for loved one with any type of cancer diagnosis. Cooperative Parenting and Divorce - Parents can learn the skills necessary to minimize difficulties for their children as their roles change from spouses to co-parents. The group is for divorcing parents who have children. Cost is $130.00 for 8 week course or (2) 4 week courses; includes the cost of workbook. Diabetes Support Group - Covers topics and support related to diabetes. Open to the patient and their family/significant other Infant Loss Support Group - 6 week series support group for families who are grieving the death of a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death. Childbirth (in person or online class), caring for a newborn, breastfeeding, multiple blessings classes Weight Loss Support Group - For people who have had any weight loss procedure or are considering one (both online and in person)

Focuses on empowering people with disabilities to live, work, and participate fully in their communities. Provides training, technical assistance, education, research, and services to promote best practices and build statewide and local community capacity. The team builds meaningful relationships with individuals with disabilities, their families, and the people they interact and work with on a day-to-day basis. Advocates for increased self-determination, independence, productivity, and a healthy and satisfying quality of life for self-advocates and the community at large. Programs and services include: Evaluation Clinics (Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinic, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Clinic, LEND Developmental Clinic, and Transition in Action Clinic), Autism Spectrum Disorder program, Birth to Three Program, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Program, LEND Program, RISE-UP Program, and Oyate Circle Program.

Collects and distributes dysphagia supplies to individuals in need, establish a dysphagia awareness advocacy program, provide education services relating to appropriate prescription and use of dysphagia supplies, and conducting research to improve the equitable distribution of dysphagia supplies to people in need and improve the autonomy of people with feeding and swallowing disorders. ​The Dysphagia Food Bank provides tangible assistance to low income individuals with dysphagia across the lifespan by providing access to thickeners, pre-modified foods, therapy tools, oral care supplies, and adaptive equipment. The food bank is available to all 50 states. Income qualifications apply.
