Youth Programs | EmBe

The EmBe offers a variety of youth programs including: - Girls on the Run: Girls on the run is an afterschool program for 3rd through 5th grade girls that helps girls understand themselves, value friendships and teamwork and recognize how we can shape the world at large. Our lessons focus on building social, emotional and physical skills in girls while encouraging healthy habits for life. Each season comes to an end with a joyful and fun non-competitive 5K. This culmination gives girls a tangible sense of accomplishment and the confidence to be the author of her story. Taekwondo: Taekwondo is a Korean martial art which strives to teach courtesy, self-control, integrity, perseverance and strong spirit. EmBe's martial arts program is organized to promote discipline, confidence and focus through taekwondo and other styles or martial arts. Taekwondo at Embe is offered beginning at age 4. - Youth Volleyball: EmBe Youth Volleyball program provides kids an opportunity to learn the skills of the game in a recreational, non-competitive, environment. EmBe and Kairos Elite Volleyball Club with Avera Sports have collaborated to bring an even greater volleyball experience to youth! With a shared vision to positively influence the lives of youth through volleyball; area kids will benefit from the knowledge offered by the two organizations, providing a seamless experience that fits each child. - FIRST LEGO League: FIRST LEGO League is a Robotics community focused on empowering and giving a sense of belonging to all youth. Through investigating and solving real-world problems in a fun and exciting competitive environment, youth gain STEM and 21st Century Skills. - Babysitting Classes: Babysitting Camp is designed for youth who want to gain knowledge and experience before entering the world of babysitting. Topics covered include what is expected from infants to school age children, activities to do with children of all ages, basic first aid and safety skills, when to ask for help, questions to ask before you agree to baby sit and experiential learning in EmBe's Childcare Center Camp GOTR (Girls On The Run): Camp GOTR combines everything that makes the Girls on the Run program effective with all the fun of camp! During the 4-day camp, rising 3rd - 5th grade girls will enjoy building friendships in a fun and inclusive setting that includes interactive games, being physically active, and expressing creativity through arts and crafts and storytelling. Led by qualified Girls on the Run coaches, Camp GOTR provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for all girls, including girls with a disability, to develop self-confidence, have fun with friends, and learn life skills they can use now and as they grow. Girls are invited to participate in Camp GOTR, regardless of whether or not they have participated in Girls on the Run during the school year.

Youth Development Golf Program | First Tee - South Dakota

A youth development organization that enables kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. By seamlessly integrating the game of golf with a life skills curriculum, we create active learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids can carry to everything they do. We're building game changers through our junior golf programs. All equipment is provided, but you may bring your own clubs and all skill levels are welcome.

Strengthening Families | Lutheran Social Services - Statewide

The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) is an evidence-based family skills training program for high-risk and general population families. Parents and youth attend weekly SFP skills classes together, learning parenting skills and youth life and refusal skills. There are separate training classes for parents and youth the first hour, followed by a joint family practice session the second hour.

Summer Camps | Lutherans Outdoors in South Dakota

NeSoDak - Located on a beautiful Glacial Lake, NeSoDak provides a safe place for youth to build relationships, develop new skills and live in a grace-filled community. NeSoDak specializes in summer youth programs, including 1-2-3 camps (two nights) for elementary youth, half-week and week-long camps for middle school through junior high youth, Servant Journey and adventures camps. Klein Ranch - Klein Ranch is a unique camp that offers youth the opportunity to begin to stretch their boundaries, and abilities, as they ride horses on 2,300 acres of Wild West ranch country. Campers can spend a week exploring the prairie on horseback and participating in other activities, such as hiking the mini badlands, having an overnight campout, playing games and more. Through the camp's small group community, youth strengthen their identity and gain depth in their faith. At Klein Ranch, youth also develop a sense of responsibility for themselves and for others as they care for the animals at the camp. Outlaw Ranch - Located amongst granite outcroppings in the southern Black Hills, Outlaw Ranch is open year round, offering summer youth camps, family camp, year round retreats for youth and adults, as well as hosting business gatherings and family reunions. Shelter and Crisis Intervention Services | Childrens Home Shelter for Family Safety

Provides immediate shelter and crisis intervention services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, and child abuse and neglect. Immediate shelter services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Trained staff is on-site to assist with the needs of anyone with safety issues seeking shelter. Case management, counseling, advocacy, support groups, parenting groups, and activities for children are offered and provided. Meals are provided and personal care items and clothing are available as needed at no cost to the client. Crisis intervention services include crisis phone, crisis drop-in counseling, support groups, parenting classes, 911 phones to public, safety planning, referrals to community resources, assistance with filling out protection orders, and court advocacy. Applications available to help victims of crime apply for victims compensation. Individual, child and family counseling is available to victims of abuse. Public education presentations are available upon request.

Connecting With Our Youth | Great Plains Tribal Leaders Health Board

The CWOY Support Navigator program is designed to provide support for American Indian youth, adults, and their families in the He Sapa area who struggle with suicidal thoughts or behaviors. CWOY Support Navigators act as mentors, advocates, and resource guides for American Indian youth, adults, and families needing support for their healing and personal growth. Services offered include one-on-one mentorship, advocacy, individualized care planning, outings, activities and workshops, transportation to appointments, collaboration with behavioral health resources, coordination for success in academic programs, communication with family members, connecting participants to peer and community programs in support of healing goals, skill-building, mental health counseling, and therapeutic circles.
