The WPRC seeks to divert or delay those we serve from substance use and other high-risk behaviors to promote choices/behaviors resulting in lifelong mind and body wellness. The WPRC primarily focuses prevention support services to stakeholders in South Dakota's 22 westernmost counties, but often serves an even broader audience. The WPRC's services include providing education, technical assistance, training and other support to prevention service providers, youth, parents, educators, community groups, social service providers, health/wellness agencies, chemical dependency service providers, law enforcement and other community wellness stakeholders. WPRC staff can provide community education and information on a broad range of prevention topics. These topics include: Individual drugs (alcohol, nicotine, vaping, marijuana, methamphetamine, fentanyl, etc.) Trends in drug use Over the counter drug misuse The science of chemical dependence (brain and body) Risky behavior marketing 988/211 Helpline usage The WPRC maintains a traditional library of books and other media relating to prevention, health and wellness. The Mental Health Service Line provides connection to outpatient mental health services, psychiatry services, local recovery coordination, care coordination, and peer support services. Also offers care for military sexual trauma, PTSD, suicide prevention and awareness outreach, and gun safety locks. Telehealth service options are available.

Individual, couple and family counseling for issues related to trauma, abuse, relationships, unplanned pregnancy, adoption and parenting. Offers Telehealth counseling services for rural South Dakotans to have access to an outpatient therapist via smart phone, tablet or computer. Call to schedule a session via confidential/secure HIPAA compliant video technology. Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - can provide trainings, classes/groups or counseling for employees. Youth prevention program focuses on issues of addiction, violence, promiscuity, and suicide. Other programs include: Lakota Circles of Hope, Disaster Relief and Uplifting Parents.

School-based alcohol and drug prevention and intervention counseling services for students and families. Services include: individual and group sessions, family counseling, drug and alcohol screening, tobacco screening, drug and alcohol assessments, referrals, aftercare (post treatment), and prescription drug lock boxes. Offering tele-mental health services. Must have access to computer with camera and microphone.

Services include behavioral health (including Substance Use Prevention), Community Health Representatives, dental care, diabetes care, health promotion/disease prevention, immunizations, laboratory, nursing, medical imaging, optometry, pharmacy (Prescription Assistance if eligible), Primary Care, public health nursing, smoking cessation, specialty clinics (e.g. OB/GYN, Mammography, Telehealth), weight loss/nutrition, well child care, women's health, and Wowasake Wellness Center

Outpatient program services for substance use and mental health (including co-occurring issues). Incorporates Lakota cultural traditional health along with mainstream modalities. These include crisis intervention, individual, family, and couples therapy, outpatient groups for both mental health and substance use issues, community prevention, discharge and aftercare planning, Referrals for involuntary and emergency services, psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults, Medication Management, inpatient treatment referrals for substance use and mental health counseling (including co-occurring issues), Integrated Care Case Management, anger management group, art therapy group for youth and adults, and recovery coaching - please call for more information. Also includes a Transitional Living Center for pre-treatment (before treatment) and aftercare services provided 24/7. Co-ed facility.

The CWOY Support Navigator program is designed to provide support for American Indian youth, adults, and their families in the He Sapa area who struggle with suicidal thoughts or behaviors. CWOY Support Navigators act as mentors, advocates, and resource guides for American Indian youth, adults, and families needing support for their healing and personal growth. Services offered include one-on-one mentorship, advocacy, individualized care planning, outings, activities and workshops, transportation to appointments, collaboration with behavioral health resources, coordination for success in academic programs, communication with family members, connecting participants to peer and community programs in support of healing goals, skill-building, mental health counseling, and therapeutic circles.

Offers mental health and substance use services as well as both family and individual case management services which include comprehensive child/adolescent/family services, comprehensive adult/family services, adult/adolescent/family substance abuse services, and outpatient psychiatric medical services. ​Walk-in assessments available during regular business hours and emergency mental health crisis support services available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.
