ICAP Housing Services provides the following programs: Rapid Rehousing and Homeless Prevention Programs: aims to help two specific groups - persons who are at great risk of homelessness and those who have become homeless. Services that can be provided include case management, security deposit and rent assistance. These services are aimed at helping participants to retain their housing, therefore avoiding homelessness, or to re-enter appropriate permanent housing as quickly as possible. Housing Repair / Rehabilitation: Provides a zero-interest, five-year decreasing balance loan for eligible homeowners to be used for accessibility modifications for persons with disabilities, in addition to making necessary repairs for health, safety and code compliance. Self-Help Housing Rehabilitation: Eligible participants will work with program staff to identify their specific needs and to create a work plan. The Program Coordinator will find the best funding sources available to the homeowners and assist them throughout the process. Weatherization and Furnace Replacement Program: Aimed at making housing for low-income persons more energy-efficient and less costly for the residents. The residence is audited and a list of needs is developed. The program provides the materials and pays contractors for the labor to weatherize the home (caulk cracks, insulate, weather-strip, fix windows, etc.). Furnaces can be repaired or replaced, if not repairable, through the program. In addition, some inefficient/high-cost non-operating appliances (range / refrigerator / water heater) can also be replaced in certain circumstances. Homeless Rent and Deposit: Helping homeless households get into housing. Must provide steady and reliable source of income. Applicant must agree to case management services.

Provides insight and information regarding typical behaviors and the stages of development in children. From birth to their first day of school and beyond, Avera's Family Life Educators are available to help every step of the way. Offers a variety of training opportunities for parents, babysitters, and child care centers/providers. Training and classes include personalized Childcare Provider Training, Babysitting Classes for Tweens aged 10-13, and Home Alone Class for children ages 9-13. The Temperament Project can help better understand a child and can help choose appropriate techniques that fit a child's unique approach to life. Completing a Temperament Profile will give an individualized graph containing details of the child's characteristics in each of the 9 Temperament Traits. Provides the food vouchers, prescription expense assistance (medicine only), vision expense assistance (eyeglasses and contacts), and personal care items (laundry soap, cleaning supplies, and hygiene items). Please note, there is a maximum amount of assistance available to individuals and families.

Areas of training or expertise include rural mental health - meeting farmers, ranchers, and their families where they are at, often times at their farm. Hours can be accommodated to fit the harvest/planting schedule; anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, life transitions, farm succession, parenting strategies, communication styles, and trauma. Counseling sessions are also available via telehealth.

Services include spiritual services, utility bill expense assistance (on individual case basis), rent payment assistance (on individual case basis), mortgage payment assistance (on individual case basis), clothing, shelter, emergency services, character building programs, and offer some hotel assistance if funding allows. Please note - there is no physical homeless shelter, but shelter may be provided in the form of a hotel voucher (if funding is available).

The Department of Human Services Guardianship Program provides guardianship and/or conservatorship services as a last resort to qualified individuals age 18 or older with an intellectual or developmental disability as defined in SDCL 27B-1-18 or qualified individuals in the Long Terms Services and Supports program. The South Dakota Department of Human Services may be appointed as a guardian, a conservator, or both, for adults with developmental disabilities under its care or to whom it is providing services or financial assistance, but only if there is no individual, nonprofit corporation, bank or trust company, or other public agency that is qualified to serve, as defined in SDCL 29A-5-110, or qualified individuals in the Long Terms Services and Supports program. The department also provides financial assistance for qualified individuals who are willing and qualified to serve as a guardian and/or conservator of up to $1,500.00 for the establishment of a guardianship or conservatorship through the Guardianship Establishment Program. Limited amount of funds for this program are available each year on a first come first served basis for qualified individuals.

Maternal Child Healthcare provides Infant Sleep Safety services, immunizations, and pregnancy support services. Infant Sleep Safety services provide education on infant safe sleep practices and link families to resources when the purchase of a crib is a financial hardship. ​Immunizations services are available for children from birth through age 18 for all universally recommended vaccinations including influenza. The Vaccines for Children's Program provides vaccines for children who are uninsured, have insurance that does not cover vaccinations, are Medicaid eligible, or are Native American or Alaskan Native. For families with insurance coverage, the Department of Health is an in-network provider for Sanford, Avera/Dakotacare, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. ​Pregnancy Support Services include regular visits with a nurse to share information about pregnancy, to provide assistance in obtaining early and on-going prenatal care from a qualified healthcare provider, and to link women to resources they may need to support a healthy pregnancy. Teaching topics may include: how your body is changing and how your baby is growing; eating healthy and gaining the right amount of weight; warning signs or symptoms that indicate you should contact your doctor; breastfeeding education and support; and caring for you and your baby after delivery. The Watertown location is also able to provide car seats for all ages when the purchase of a car seat is financial hardship.

Positive Indian Parenting (PIP) - an 8-week parent training class for Indigenous parents, caregivers, non-Native foster parents of Indigenous children, and others who strive to be more positive in their approach to parenting. It is a structured exploration of traditional American Indian and Alaska Native values concerning parenting and helps participants apply those values in a modem setting. Red Road Approach (RRA) men's and women's groups provide a cognitive and experiential curriculum on Native American/Indigenous philosophies, activating the spirit for individuals, families, and communities. Participants are guided through lessons on the impacts of alcohol and drugs on the mind, body, and spirit. This 10-week adult program meets on a weekly basis. Incentives are available for graduates of the program. ​Spiritual Group is a safe space for those seeking support, healing, and a time to connect with others in the community. All are welcome. Alcoholics Anonymous provides a confidential, safe and non- judgmental setting for those experiencing substance use disorder (SUD). A A follows a 12-step program focusing on actions that guide members through their recovery journey. This is an open yet confidential group. Anyone is welcome. No sign-up is necessary. Other cultural activities, such as Walking group and therapeutic crafts, are offered during the week to take care of individuals spirit and keep connected to traditional Indigenous ways of life. Transitional housing for up to 20 males. Typically a meeting happens with the inmate prior to release, but might be able to help people already release if space is available. Program also helps anyone re-entering society after incarceration with finding employment, clothes, furniture, etc. (based on what is currently available). An independent entity working alongside and in cooperation with Cornerstone Prison Church (prison congregation in Sioux Falls), Livingstone Prison Church (prison congregation in Springfield), and Metal Craft Industries.

Provides treatment needs assessments for individuals with addictions and mental health challenges. Individual, couple and family counseling for ages 12 and up; all genders welcome. Services are individualized, trauma informed, holistic and strength based. Services are offered both face to face and via telehealth, which can be accessed with smart phone, tablet or computer. Treatment approaches include animal assisted therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), hypnotherapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), brain spotting, and Accelerate Resolution Therapy (ART) and others. ​Reiki is available to help resolve emotional and physical distress by allowing healing energy to flow freely throughout the body.
