Custer Clinic is a primary care, family medicine clinic. Board certified physicians and physician assistants offer health care services sensitive to the individual needs of you and your family. Services include Digital mammography, Family medicine, Fracture care, Geriatric care, Minor surgical procedures, Pediatrics, including childhood immunizations, Prenatal/gynecology, Pulmonary function testing, Vaccinations, including flu vaccines, Vasectomy, and Wellness exams.

Preschool services for children ages 3 - 5, as well as home visiting program to work on child development for pregnant women and children up to age 3. Programs include Head Start, Early Head Start, home visits and parental support.

For families with insurance coverage, the Department of Health is an in-network provider for Sanford, Avera/Dakotacare, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. ​Pregnancy Support Services include regular visits with a nurse to share information about pregnancy, to provide assistance in obtaining early and on-going prenatal care from a qualified healthcare provider, and to link women to resources they may need to support a healthy pregnancy. Teaching topics may include: how your body is changing and how your baby is growing; eating healthy and gaining the right amount of weight; warning signs or symptoms that indicate you should contact your doctor; breastfeeding education and support; and caring for you and your baby after delivery. The Watertown and Sisseton locations are also able to provide car seats for all ages at no cost.

Provides individual therapy and consultation/training services in the following areas - anxiety, behavioral concerns, depression, divorce, grief and loss, life transitions, parenting, school issues, play therapy, and workplace management. Primary emphasis is working with children, adolescents, and families. Also provides training and consulting with schools and communities.

6 week, 12-hour program of instruction, videos, and role play that helps parents develop and practice skills to: give clear message to their children, effectively use praise; change behavior through the use of consequences; prevent and correct negative behaviors; and help children learn self-control techniques.

Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) is a supplemental food program that enables eligible households to obtain a more nutritious diet. Eligibility is determined by income, resources, and household size. Lost, stolen, or damaged EBT (SNAP) cards must call customer service to report the loss of your card. You will need to enter the card number. If you do not have the card, stay on the line for a second prompt and press 2. Reporting an EBT card as lost, stolen, or damaged will result in that card being declined.

Substance abuse and mental health counseling for individuals. Issues to be addressed include, but are not limited to; depression, bipolar, substance abuse and addiction, anxiety, adjustment disorders, self-esteem, trauma, self injury, personality disorders, stress management, phase of life issues, grief, eating disorders, abuse, anger, co-occurring disorders, and relationships. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) technique available. Offers telehealth services; not all issues are appropriate to address through distance counseling. Videoconferencing available.

Offers skilled services to analyze cognition, assess strengths/weaknesses due to concussion, menopause, aging and neurological disease and then develop a roadmap to optimize brain function today and fight dementia in the future. Also helps patients already diagnosed with dementia to walk through living their best life with their diagnosis.

Working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families wanting to overcome trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, other mental illnesses, relationship issues, marriage counseling, grief, family issues/dynamics, women's issues, domestic violence concerns, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and other life challenges. Multiple support groups are always available (ie. After Divorce/Your Relationship Ends Support Group). Offering faith-based therapy and online counseling services when requested. Offers telehealth counseling through software called Google Meet to individuals in South Dakota. Preference is to do in-person intake, but can do intake online if in-person is not an option.

A public health nutrition program for income-eligible infants and children up to age 5, pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women. WIC provides nutrition education to help make healthy eating choices, breastfeeding education for expectant and new mothers looking to learn more about their infant nutrition options, referrals to connect families with quality medical care and other community services, and food benefits to help families purchase nutritious groceries at participating businesses statewide.

CSFP program (Commodities): Provides healthy food once a month to low income elderly. A 25-28 lb. box of healthy food and 2-lbs of cheese available once a month. TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program): Provides emergency food assistance at no cost. The only requirement for TEFAP recipients is self-declaration that they fall within the TEFAP income eligibility guidelines. Food Pantry - client choice pantry: Available to those with a gross household income no more than 185% of poverty level. Participants can shop once a month. Quantity of food is based on the size of household. Mitchell Food Pantry is an equal opportunity provider.

A week long day camp for children ages 8 - 13. Gives kids the opportunity to experience water recreation in a fun and safe learning environment. Program is designed to help build skills of children with little or no experience in water sports, or to reinforce skills in children who are veterans to the water. There will be lifeguards, water safety instructors and staff to ensure the safety of everyone.

Youth & Family Services (YFS) Rapid City Head Start is a federally funded, no-cost, parent-focused education program that serves low-income children, ages 4 weeks-5 years, and their families. Program goals include increasing social skills and school readiness for young children while increasing the self-sufficiency for families. YFS Rapid City Head Start gives priority to families who meet the household income guidelines or have children with disabilities. Income guidelines are established by the federal government each year. All services are free of charge for participants who qualify. Head Start® is a registered trademark of HHS.
