Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) is a supplemental food program that enables eligible households to obtain a more nutritious diet. Eligibility is determined by income, resources, and household size. Lost, stolen, or damaged EBT (SNAP) cards must call customer service to report the loss of your card. You will need to enter the card number. If you do not have the card, stay on the line for a second prompt and press 2. Reporting an EBT card as lost, stolen, or damaged will result in that card being declined.

Medical assistance programs include: ​Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP): Coverage includes such things as doctor, hospital, prescription drugs, counseling, dental and glasses. Insurance for children up to age 19 at no cost to the family if the income is below certain income levels found on the Federal Poverty Guidelines. If the family income is below 140%, the children may be eligible with or without private health insurance. If there is insurance, CHIP will pay the deductibles, co-insurance, and possibly some medical services not covered by the private insurance. ​Medicaid: Health care coverage for people who qualify. To be eligible for Medicaid, individuals must fall into a coverage group and meet certain financial and non-financial eligibility criteria. Provides help for older adults and people with disabilities.

Providing free lunch for children 18 years old or younger. Meals on Wheels Western South Dakota are funding lunch at no charge for seniors (60+) accompanying their grandchildren. ​The Black Hills Area Community Foundation will fund lunch for adults (19-59 years old) accompanying their children. Meals are either a hot or cold lunch including a grain, protein, fruit/vegetable, and milk. This institution is an equal opportunity provider. Birthparent Counseling Program provides options counseling to assist birth parents who are in an unintended/crisis pregnancy in reaching decisions regarding their futures and the future of the child. Services to birth parents are free of charge. Services are available anywhere in South Dakota, LSS can travel to meet with birth parents. ​Parenting and adoption options are explored: If parenting is the decision, the counselor will assist in setting up community resources. If adoption is the decision, the birth parent can choose from adoptive parent profiles, including pictures and information about the family. The birthparent also can choose what degree of openness they want in the adoption plan. LSS does provide both open and closed/confidential adoption. The purpose of this program is to assist birthparents in reaching a permanent plan for themselves and their child. Adoption Program provides options for those desiring to pursue having a family, including Infant Domestic Program and International Adoption Program. Training and Home Study Services are provided prior to placement of a child.

K-5 (Kindergarten through 5th Grade) provides care and programming outside of classroom hours in several locations in Sioux Falls, Brandon and Harrisburg. Activities are designed to meet each age level's academic, social and emotional needs. Provides car seat installation and safety checks at any Sioux Falls Fire Station from 8:00am - 8:00pm (CT), Monday - Sunday. ​Individuals are encouraged to call 211 to register before arriving at a fire station.

ICAP Housing Services provides the following programs: Rapid Rehousing and Homeless Prevention Programs: aims to help two specific groups - persons who are at great risk of homelessness and those who have become homeless. Services that can be provided include case management, security deposit and rent assistance. These services are aimed at helping participants to retain their housing, therefore avoiding homelessness, or to re-enter appropriate permanent housing as quickly as possible. Housing Repair / Rehabilitation: Provides a zero-interest, five-year decreasing balance loan for eligible homeowners to be used for accessibility modifications for persons with disabilities, in addition to making necessary repairs for health, safety and code compliance. Self-Help Housing Rehabilitation: Eligible participants will work with program staff to identify their specific needs and to create a work plan. The Program Coordinator will find the best funding sources available to the homeowners and assist them throughout the process. Weatherization and Furnace Replacement Program: Aimed at making housing for low-income persons more energy-efficient and less costly for the residents. The residence is audited and a list of needs is developed. The program provides the materials and pays contractors for the labor to weatherize the home (caulk cracks, insulate, weather-strip, fix windows, etc.). Furnaces can be repaired or replaced, if not repairable, through the program. In addition, some inefficient/high-cost non-operating appliances (range / refrigerator / water heater) can also be replaced in certain circumstances. Homeless Rent and Deposit: Helping homeless households get into housing. Must provide steady and reliable source of income. Applicant must agree to case management services.

A free learning opportunity of 6 classes designed for parents and individuals that engage with school-aged children, kindergarten through 12th grade. Parents who have accurate information about development, temperament, and social and emotional growth are more likely to experience increased satisfaction and enjoyment in parenting their school-age children. Participants will learn how to reduce family stress, support success in school, diminish yelling and fighting, reduce problem behavior, enrich relationship with child, and increase confidence as well as child's.

Offers individual therapy for adults and adolescents and relationship counseling for couples of all ages. Utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed therapy, mindfulness and experiential practices. Specialties include trauma, relationship stress, infidelity, intimacy issues, history of childhood physical, emotional and sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, social phobia, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), anger management, emotional regulation, grief and loss, gender identity, sexual identity, and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Special interest in working with women, relationships and LGBTQ+ clients.

Provides Public Health Nursing and Maternal Child Healthcare Services through various programs. General public health services include professional nursing and nutrition information and guidance on health, safety, and nutrition for individuals, families, and communities. Services such as influenza vaccinations and screenings for blood pressure, hearing, vision, and hemoglobin are available at a fee. Maternal Child Healthcare provides Infant Sleep Safety services, immunizations, and pregnancy support services. Infant Sleep Safety services provide education on infant safe sleep practices and link families to resources when the purchase of a crib is a financial hardship. ​Immunizations services are available for children from birth through age 18 for all universally recommended vaccinations including influenza. The Vaccines for Children's Program provides vaccines for children who are uninsured, have insurance that does not cover vaccinations, are Medicaid eligible, or are Native American or Alaskan Native. For families with insurance coverage, the Department of Health is an in-network provider for Sanford, Avera/Dakotacare, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. ​Pregnancy Support Services include regular visits with a nurse to share information about pregnancy, to provide assistance in obtaining early and on-going prenatal care from a qualified healthcare provider, and to link women to resources they may need to support a healthy pregnancy. Teaching topics may include: how your body is changing and how your baby is growing; eating healthy and gaining the right amount of weight; warning signs or symptoms that indicate you should contact your doctor; breastfeeding education and support; and caring for you and your baby after delivery. The Watertown and Sisseton locations are also able to provide car seats for all ages at no cost.

A joint effort of the Scottish Rite Foundation of South Dakota and the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department at USD with support from the Sioux Empire United Way. The clinic's purpose is to provide evaluation, treatment, and outreach services for children birth to 21 years in the Sioux Falls area with speech, language, and literacy deficits. Also provides a training site for graduate students in Speech Language/Pathology. Examples of disorders seen include children who are late talking, who have articulation disorders, language disorders, stuttering difficulties, hearing losses, etc. The clinic also serves as a diagnostic center for written language / dyslexia. There is a minimal fee for services; no one is denied due to an inability to pay. Referrals are taken from parents, professionals, and family members.
