Keeping children safe by providing child safety seats at no cost to families that meet income eligibility requirements to ensure that they are in the best child seat for their height and weight until they are at least 4'9. At 4'9, most children can safely wear a seat belt. Current South Dakota law states that any operator of any passenger vehicle transporting a child under five years of age on the streets and highways of this state shall properly secure the child in a child passenger restraint system, and that the operator of a motor vehicle must make sure that a passenger who is at least five and younger than 18 must be wearing a properly adjusted and fastened safety seat belt system. If the belts don't fit properly, the operator must find another safety belt system to secure the child (SD Law 32-37). This program distributes child seats to income eligible parents and children statewide, by assessing financial need. The communities listed may have local distribution partners. Providing assistance to those who have worked on a farm or ranch within the past two years. If eligible, depending upon availability of funds, services may include: on the job training assistance, job search/placement assistance, financial support for education training and job placement, and supportive services such as, but not limited to: rental assistance and transportation costs, daycare expenses, tools, uniforms, and food.

A public health nutrition program for income-eligible infants and children up to age 5, pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women. WIC provides nutrition education to help make healthy eating choices, breastfeeding education for expectant and new mothers looking to learn more about their infant nutrition options, referrals to connect families with quality medical care and other community services, and food benefits to help families purchase nutritious groceries at participating businesses statewide.

Veterans Stand Down event provides education and information about Veteran services and benefits to Veterans and their families in the West River region. The event also includes haircuts, clothing, hygiene products, employment services, legal assistance, housing referrals, eye screening/reading glasses, readjustment counseling. A free meal is served at all locations.

Provides long-term nursing facility care, short-term rehabilitation, memory care services, and respite services. Services include but are not limited to assistance with activities of daily living, medication management, 24-hour nursing care, dietary services, recreational activities, life enrichment programs, and spiritual programs.
