Provides Public Health Nursing and Maternal Child Healthcare Services through various programs. General public health services include professional nursing and nutrition information and guidance on health, safety, and nutrition for individuals, families, and communities. Services such as influenza vaccinations and screenings for blood pressure, hearing, vision, and hemoglobin are available at a fee. Maternal Child Healthcare provides Infant Sleep Safety services, immunizations, and pregnancy support services. Infant Sleep Safety services provide education on infant safe sleep practices and link families to resources when the purchase of a crib is a financial hardship. ​Immunizations services are available for children from birth through age 18 for all universally recommended vaccinations including influenza. The Vaccines for Children's Program provides vaccines for children who are uninsured, have insurance that does not cover vaccinations, are Medicaid eligible, or are Native American or Alaskan Native. For families with insurance coverage, the Department of Health is an in-network provider for Sanford, Avera/Dakotacare, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. ​Pregnancy Support Services include regular visits with a nurse to share information about pregnancy, to provide assistance in obtaining early and on-going prenatal care from a qualified healthcare provider, and to link women to resources they may need to support a healthy pregnancy. Teaching topics may include: how your body is changing and how your baby is growing; eating healthy and gaining the right amount of weight; warning signs or symptoms that indicate you should contact your doctor; breastfeeding education and support; and caring for you and your baby after delivery. The Watertown and Sisseton locations are also able to provide car seats for all ages at no cost.

ICAP Children and Family Services include the following: Half Day Services: Eligible children ages 3 - 5 will receive 3 1/2 hours of center-based preschool, 4 days per week, September - May. (limited locations) EHS Home Based Services: A home visitor meets with eligible women who are pregnant and/or families with children under the age of 3 once per week for 1 1/2 hours (at a regularly scheduled time). Group socialization meetings are held twice per month. Child Development Center: Madison and Sioux Falls (ages 4 weeks - 3 years) can receive early childhood services and childcare each day year-round at ICAP's childcare center.

As parents learn valuable information on pregnancy care and parenting skills, they earn Mommy Money and Man Bucks to use in the Baby Boutique for items such as clothing, furniture, and baby items.

Equine-assisted psychotherapy for individuals, families, and groups. Specializes in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and youth with problematic sexual behaviors. Telehealth available.

The Housing Division provides the following services: ​Rental Rehabilitation Program - Up to $25,000 per rental unit; $100,000 maximum per project, depending on equity. Funds may be used to replace roofs, siding, insulation, exterior painting or installing energy efficient windows and doors. Funding may also be used for interior updates. ​Single Family Housing Rehabilitation Program - provides financial and technical assistance for housing rehabilitation needs including but not limited to roofs, doors, stairs, painting, insulation, handicap accessibility, windows, electrical, plumbing and furnace replacements. Maintenance repairs are not included in this program. Loan payments are only required when the home is sold or is no longer the primary residence. ​Emergency Mobile Home Repair Program - provides up to $5,000 to help pay for emergency repairs. Maintenance repairs are not included in this program. ​Neighborhood Revitalization Program - designed to remove dilapidated housing structures which are unsafe, and replace with new affordable housing options. New, owner-occupied residential structures constructed and eligible for income qualified households to purchase.

Provides assisted living care, independent living, memory care, skilled care, and rehabilitation services in a community setting. Services include personalized care planning, nutrition services, activities for socialization, 24-hour staffing, and medication assistance.

Providing health care and supportive services in a patient's home. Home Health may be considered for people who are recovering from an illness, injury, or surgery, undergoing treatment, people with disabilities, and those who are chronically ill or terminally ill. Services offered are skilled nursing care, home health aides for personal care, rehabilitation therapy (physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy), social services, patient/family education, medication monitoring, and nutrition consultation.

Community outpatient mental health facility. Provides mental health services to children, adolescents and adults. Services include but are not limited to psychiatric care and evaluations, children's services, group and individual counseling, play therapy, aggression management, and more.

Programs include the following: Furnace Replacement - Replaced if furnace is unsafe, costs more than 50% of new furnace to repair, is outdated, or is not cost efficient. Lead Hazard Identification - E.P.A. certified staff that will refer to local resources. Weatherization - For homes or mobile homes includes, but is not limited to, windows, doors, sealing vents, etc.

A community wide pantry (Brandon Valley School District) where individuals in need can receive an emergency supply of 5 days of food assistance and personal care items up to 4 times a year.

Addiction services consist of: chemical dependency evaluations, intensive adult outpatient chemical dependency treatment, adult chemical dependent aftercare support groups, DUI classes, gambling treatment, prevention programs, Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Substance Abuse (CBISA), tele-med services

Offering occupational health advice, planning and support to employers and their employees.

Items are made available to anyone in Custer County at no charge. In case of emergencies/crisis the Storehouse is opened to fill specific needs (i.e. family evacuated from burned home). The items available vary based on donations received (household items and clothing).

Clinic locations offer family care to Sioux Falls and the surrounding area. Provides a variety of services for family and primary care (including flu shots) as well as prenatal care and OB/GYN. Other health services include yearly checkups, treatment of minor illnesses, and management of chronic conditions.

Medical services that are offered include ear, nose, and throat, family medicine, internal medicine, interventional pain, pediatrics, podiatry, and rheumatology.

(JCAHO) serving Native American people living in or near Roberts County. Services include Behavioral Health, Dental, Diabetes Care, Health Promotion/Disease Prevention, Laboratory, Nursing, Radiology, Optometry, Pharmacy (Prescription Assistance - Enrolled members of a Native American tribe can get free prescriptions by visiting their local IHS), Primary Care, Public Health Nursing, Physical Therapy, Specialty Clinic (OB/GYN), Weight Loss/Nutrition, Well Child Care, Men/Women's Health, and Medication Disposal.

Provides meat, eggs, milk vouchers, produce, bakery items, canned goods, bread and other items from Feeding South Dakota, local grocery stores and restaurants, and private donations to people in need.

The Auditor is the keeper of County records and acts as a bookkeeper of County business. The Auditor is responsible for County Commissioner meetings including scheduling, agenda, business follow-up; Preparing the County's budget, Audit bills or other claims against the County and prepare the warrants in payment of these bills, Figuring the mil levy, and Head election officer of the County. Welfare services include medical assistance, utilities assistance for disconnect notices on heating bills, and burial/funeral assistance. All assistance is based on eligibility guidelines. All applicants are required by law to repay the county for assistance given, per SDCL 28-14. County is payer of last resort after all other resources have been utilized.

Investigates child abuse and neglect cases by working with the State's Attorney, law enforcement, and community resources to determine extent of alleged child abuse or neglect. Other services include adoptions, licensing of foster homes, assessment services, case management, and intensive family services.
