Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) is a supplemental food program that enables eligible households to obtain a more nutritious diet. Eligibility is determined by income, resources, and household size. Lost, stolen, or damaged EBT (SNAP) cards must call customer service to report the loss of your card. You will need to enter the card number. If you do not have the card, stay on the line for a second prompt and press 2. Reporting an EBT card as lost, stolen, or damaged will result in that card being declined.

Bright Start is a community-based, voluntary program which implements the evidence based Nurse Family Partnership model to provide nurse home visitation services to families during pregnancy, after delivery and may continue until the child's second birthday. Services include prenatal, maternal and infant/child health assessments and education; and health, safety and nutrition education. Families are linked with resources such as prenatal, postpartum, and pediatric medical care, family planning services, mental health services, job training, literacy services, employment opportunities, housing, substance abuse treatment, early childhood assessment and intervention opportunities, and other community resources

Pharmacy services include immunizations, prescription refills, health screenings, and a medication disposal drop box. - Medication disposal drop-boxes for expired, unused or unwanted controlled, non-controlled, and over the counter medications, including pet medications. Items that are NOT accepted include: trash, regulated medical waste, sharps, syringes, thermometers, hazardous waste, aerosols, illicit drugs, or commercial waste.

Support group for women who have witnessed or experienced violence in a relationship. These groups seek to provide support and feedback to women who have been emotionally, sexually, or physically abused in their relationships. Topics of discussion include: the dynamics of domestic violence, crisis issues caused by domestic violence, the impact of traumatic experiences on daily living, staying safe, self-esteem, and healthy relationships.The women's support groups are open and may be joined by anyone at any time. No pre-registration is required to attend and groups are offered free of charge.

Provides numerous educational and cultural experiences for youth and adults that include preservation of the historic G.A.R. Hall and the following arts enrichment programming: monthly gallery exhibits and lectures (free and open to the public); youth / adult art classes and programs including: kids studio, kids art camp, and artist unleashed; annual kids art fest; artists in residencies; annual summer concert series (12 concerts); annual high school art scholarships and educator scholarships; annual summer arts festival, and volunteer opportunities.

Insurance for children up to age 19 at no cost to the family if the income is below certain income levels found on the Federal Poverty Guidelines. If the family income is below 140%, the children may be eligible with or without private health insurance. If there is insurance, CHIP will pay the deductibles, co-insurance, and possibly some medical services not covered by the private insurance. ​Medicaid: Health care coverage for people who qualify. To be eligible for Medicaid, individuals must fall into a coverage group and meet certain financial and non-financial eligibility criteria. Common Sense Parenting is a product of years of research compiled by Girls and Boys Town, Nebraska. This program is a step-by-step guide for raising responsible children and building strong, happy families. Parents will learn how to reduce family stress, support success in school, enrich parent/child relationships, reduce problem behavior, and diminish yelling and fighting. It teaches skills to help parents build better families. Topics focus on positive/negative consequences, staying calm, teaching self control, effective praise, and parents as teachers. Classes are offered about every 6 weeks. Both at Children's Home Shelter for Family Safety and virtually.

Community Living Services: Assists individuals in obtaining accessible, affordable housing, transportation, and other community living services. Home Modifications Adaptive Devices: Provides home modifications and adaptive devices, which could include ramps, lift chairs, bathroom modifications, reachers, canes, walkers and more. Telecommunication Adaptive Devices: Provides adapted telecommunication services, which includes an emergency phone dialer. American's with Disabilities Act: Serves as educators and consultants for contractors, businesses, organizations, and individuals regarding the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and its guidelines and requirements. Assistive Daily Living Services: Provides services for people ages 18 and older, with physical disabilities affecting all four limbs, who need assistance with daily living activities. Services include program education and support and personal attendant services. Home Again South Dakota: Provides options for older adults and/or people with disabilities living in nursing homes, hospitals, or long-term care facilities to enable them to successfully return to their homes and communities. Helps individuals identify barriers to living on their own, helps them find a place to live that meets their needs, and helps them find the services and supports they need to continue living independently.

Mental health counseling uniquely tailored to meet each client's needs in a safe, non-judgmental environment. A variety of methods are used for treatment including EMDR, IFS, CBT, Motivational Interviewing and Adlerian Therapy. Trauma informed care is provided for adolescents, adults, individuals, couples and families working through anxiety, depression, PTSD, and relational trauma as well as other issues that occur throughout life. In-person sessions are available in the Spearfish office, or statewide via telehealth. Intensive and marathon sessions are provided as an option for treatment as well as traditional counseling sessions for individuals and couples.
