The Home Essential Repair programs are efforts to serve low-income homeowners who struggle to maintain their homes and keep aging community members in their homes for as long as possible. This program focuses on exterior home repair services such as painting, minor exterior repairs, landscaping, weather stripping and exterior cleanup. There is also interior repair and renovation. The assistance this program offers is separate from the home build program. Qualified candidates must be able to pay and partner on the project, as they work alongside our professionals and other volunteers. Projects are completed using donated materials, and low-interest loans (if needed) so that a homeowner can live safely and independently their homes. The Home Preservation program is offered to assist homeowners who are physically unable to complete repairs on their own or may need assistance in funding repairs. This assistance allows homeowners the ability to stay in their home for further years and continue to build equity and pride in the home. The Home Preservation program has a target audience of adults aged 65 and older who require assistance to age in place.

Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) is a supplemental food program that enables eligible households to obtain a more nutritious diet. Eligibility is determined by income, resources, and household size. Lost, stolen, or damaged EBT (SNAP) cards must call customer service to report the loss of your card. You will need to enter the card number. If you do not have the card, stay on the line for a second prompt and press 2. Reporting an EBT card as lost, stolen, or damaged will result in that card being declined.

General public health services include professional nursing and nutrition information and guidance on health, safety, and nutrition for individuals, families, and communities. Maternal Child Healthcare provides Infant Sleep Safety services, immunizations, and pregnancy support services. The Vaccines for Children's Program provides vaccines for children who are uninsured, have insurance that does not cover vaccinations, are Medicaid eligible, or are Native American or Alaskan Native. For families with insurance coverage, the Department of Health is an in-network provider for Sanford, Avera/Dakotacare, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. ​Pregnancy Support Services include regular visits with a nurse to share information about pregnancy, to provide assistance in obtaining early and on-going prenatal care from a qualified healthcare provider, and to link women to resources they may need to support a healthy pregnancy. Teaching topics may include: how your body is changing and how your baby is growing; eating healthy and gaining the right amount of weight; warning signs or symptoms that indicate you should contact your doctor; breastfeeding education and support; and caring for you and your baby after delivery. The Watertown and Sisseton locations are also able to provide car seats for all ages at no cost.

Builds homes for people in need: Habitat for Humanity builds houses in partnership with volunteers and people in need and then sells the homes to those people in need, known as partner families. Partner families are selected by Habitat based on: their need for housing; their willingness to partner with Habitat; and the ability to pay a 0% interest mortgage. Assists in restoration on exterior of existing homes for people in need: Volunteers (including youth groups), are organized and recruited by Hub Area Habitat for Humanity to assist with the following projects for income eligible homeowners including: Exterior painting or siding, Minor exterior home repairs, or Yard work including: weeding, trimming shrubbery, raking leaves (yard rehabilitation, not lawn mowing). This does not include tree trimming of taking down a tree. Help Build It Center: a store where items can be donated and purchased at discounted prices. Items consist of: light fixtures, bathroom fixtures, furniture, appliances, carpet, wood and tile flooring, windows and doors, paints and stains and other miscellaneous home goods.
