Food pantry provides groceries to individuals and families in need. Personal hygiene and grooming supplies may be available on a very limited basis.
CSFP program (Commodities): Provides healthy food once a month to low income elderly. A 25-28 lb. box of healthy food and 2-lbs of cheese available once a month. TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program): Provides emergency food assistance at no cost. The only requirement for TEFAP recipients is self-declaration that they fall within the TEFAP income eligibility guidelines. Food Pantry - client choice pantry: Available to those with a gross household income no more than 185% of poverty level. Participants can shop once a month. Quantity of food is based on the size of household. Mitchell Food Pantry is an equal opportunity provider.
Food giveaway, once a month. Distributes TEFAP foods for which income guidelines apply (this institution is an equal opportunity provider). Community meal also served on the day of the food giveaway.
Provides one week of supplemental food, based on household size, once-a-month to those in need in Clay County, South Dakota.

Food items are acquired through food drives (Boy Scouts, postal workers), individual donations, civic donations, and by purchasing. Food items are then distributed during Storehouse open hours and may be accessed up to 2 times per month. The Storehouse pantry is made available during emergency/crisis situations. Distributing food to anyone in need and resides in Custer County the first 3 Wednesdays & Saturdays of the month from 10:00am - 1:00pm. Pick up only. If you are in an emergency need of food please contact a local pastor or a Storehouse Board member.
Food Pantry for Marshall County and communities of Hecla, Houghton, and Claremont.
Services include spiritual services, utility bill expense assistance (on individual case basis), rent payment assistance (on individual case basis), mortgage payment assistance (on individual case basis), clothing, shelter, emergency services, character building programs, and offer some hotel assistance if funding allows. Please note - there is no physical homeless shelter, but shelter may be provided in the form of a hotel voucher (if funding is available).

The Contact Center helps residents of Yankton County with the following: A food pantry Utility assistance, including past due and disconnect bills for water, lights, and heating Gasoline Partial rent Representative payee system Emergency medication assistance - Children's backpacks available. Typically available in August. 2024: Collaboration with United Way. August 15, 2024 at Contact Center 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Students must be enrolled in the Yankton School District. Deadline to register for a backpack is August 9, 2024. Contact Center does not help with any kind of deposit (rent, utility, etc).

Mobile food pantry that may be utilized once a month by families and/or individuals. There are no referrals required to receive this service. This program does not do delivery and is not an emergency food option.
Food pantry serving strictly the Spearfish and St. Onge communities. Families are asked to remain in their vehicles and not enter the facility. Volunteers will gather the pertinent information and then deliver food items to vehicles. Services can only be used 1 time a month.
Offers limited food assistance. Minimum amount of prepackaged bags available, but also offers bread and peanut butter under extreme circumstances. Please call ahead to check availability of assistance.

The student food pantry is a campus resource that provides free food and essential supplies to students experiencing food insecurity to ensure students have access to nutritious meals, allowing them to focus on their education without the added stress of hunger.

Each conference seeks to serve the gaps in services in the communities they serve. Friends in need may be offered referral to other agencies, advocacy, or direct assistance: which may include utility bill and rent assistance payments, or clothing, food, and pharmacy to meet basic, immediate needs.

Beresford Faith in Action serves individuals and families in need with Food Pantry, Crisis Fund (1 time / year) depending on availability of funds - Rent (can include rent or deposit); Utility assistance including: deposit, past due bill, and disconnect notices for trash, water, lights, and heating; and help with budgeting/financial planning. Backpack School program - weekend food for Beresford School students. Faith in Action also networks clients with other organizations/ resources that may help them with their situation.
