Spanish-Speaking Community Group | Bienvenidos a Brookings

Works to bring immigrants, immigrant advocates, and non-immigrant community members together to deepen their relationships and cultural understanding. Nearly all efforts are focused on Latin immigrants. Immigrant families in need are provided food, furniture, school supplies, household items, and diapers. Also provides organizing community English classes and connecting ESL volunteers with new English language learners, networking with immigration service providers in Eastern South Dakota, creating a general referral service for immigrants needing assistance, arranging translation services when needed, assisting families with their efforts to change immigration status, and community outreach to educate the non-immigrant community about obstacles immigrants experience in the Brookings area.

Pharmacy Services | Davis Pharmacy

Pharmacy services consist of Medication Therapy Management, immunizations, Medicare open enrollment, and medication synchronizations. Also sells over the counter medications, vitamins and supplements, personal hygiene products, and school supplies. Customers can download the PocketRx app to set medication reminders and order prescription refills 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.

Community Engagement Center | Sioux Falls School District

Provides free resources for families that have a child in the Sioux Falls School District during the school year. Services include food pantry, hygiene items, winter gear, socks and underwear, access to computer/internet, space to connect with social worker for assistance, and birthday closet. Services are not offered during the summer.

Basic Needs | MSD Caring Closet

Any student in need of basic daily essentials. Students can discuss their needs in confidence with any school staff member OR any school staff member can recognize a student's needs they would like to address. If the school does not currently have the needed items, the school will reach out to the MSD Caring Closet and volunteers will do their best to help fulfill the student's needs. Student's use and/or request of items is completely confidential.

The Community Connection Center (CCC) is a one-stop-shop that addresses the needs of Vermillion community members by coordinating the efforts of local organizations. The CCC is a networking hub that houses a full range of community services designed to enhance the lives of children, families and communities, including United Way of Vermillion, Evan Project Diaper Bank, Vermillion Food Pantry, Salvation Army Emergency Fund, Welcome Table, Tanager Takeout/Weekend Backpack Program, Back to School Backpack Program, VITA, ROCS Outreach, Cornerstones Learning and Allen's Bed Bank.

Back to School Days | Foster Network, The

A multi-day event providing children in foster care the basic necessities for the back to school season (while supplies last). Includes backpacks, school supplies, clothing, and shoes. If there are families who have children enrolled outside of the Sioux Falls School District, please bring specific school supply list. Basic Needs Assistance | Love Inc of Greater Canton

Clearinghouse for local food pantry, gas vouchers, utility (including water, electric, and gas bills with a disconnection notice), and rent help. Love Inc is not income based, rather they are need based. If Love, Inc is unable to help, clients will be referred to the appropriate agency. Programs include: Friday Backpack Program (healthy snacks for weekends), Adopt-A-Student Backpack Program (supplies and backpack for the school year), personal care pantry, winter coat drive, Helping Hands Baby Ministry, Love Inc's Clothing Closet (a thrift store for the Canton community), and budgeting classes.
