Offers playgroups for children from infancy - 6 years old and their adults. Playgroups are led by a credentialed Montessori guide who is also trained in early childhood inclusive education. Provides small group and one-on-one education on a variety of parenting topics, including lactation, infant massage, sleep, babywearing, and car seat safety.

Common Sense Parenting Class: Classes are interactive and include videotaped examples to watch, rather than a lecture format. In order to receive a certificate for class attendance, all participants must attend the first session, and be present for five out of six classes. For more information, or to register please call. Topics cover a wide range of mental health issues from alcoholism and the family to stress management. SMILE: Education program for separating and divorcing parents with children under the age of 18, designed to inform parents how to better understand the effects of divorce; assist parents to understand the needs of their children; help parents learn what they can do to create a nurturing and safe environment so their children can recover and feel good about themselves; inform parents how to prevent destructive game playing that is common among divorce; help parents gain problem solving skills. Provides the following community classes and courses: Baby Basics: Learn the essential skills needed to take care of a new baby in this fun, informative, hands-on class. Topics covered include newborn appearance, hospital procedures, eating and sleeping, baby cues and crying, calming techniques, and health, safety, and signs of illness. Breastfeeding Preparation: This class helps mom and partner understand the breastfeeding process and the benefits to both mom and baby Family and Friends CPR: Course is designed for people who want to learn rescue skills for loved ones. The presumption is that class participants complete this course mainly for the rescue of family members or friends. New Baby and Me: A time to gather with other moms and talk with experts. Topics covered include baby temperament, infant massage, safety, postpartum adjustment, attachment and slings, and more. Positive Parenting (Ages 0-5): Offers parents an opportunity to learn parenting techniques. Responsive Parenting (Ages 0-3) : A six week class series covering responsive parenting strategies. Covered topics include the parent and child relationship, the unique child, temperament, and responding to your child's needs. Understanding Me Up to Age 3: Provides education to understand young children and their behaviors.

Foster Home Licensing
Offers practical classes on topics such as finances, parenting, Christianity, nutrition, and marriage. These classes will provide incentives for people when homework is completed and life goals are achieved. Each Spring and Fall quarters are at a different partnering church. Life INC classes are held Thursday evenings and provide a free meal as well as a free children's ministry/care.

Common Sense Parenting is a product of years of research compiled by Girls and Boys Town, Nebraska. This program is a step-by-step guide for raising responsible children and building strong, happy families. Parents will learn how to reduce family stress, support success in school, enrich parent/child relationships, reduce problem behavior, and diminish yelling and fighting. It teaches skills to help parents build better families. Topics focus on positive/negative consequences, staying calm, teaching self control, effective praise, and parents as teachers. Classes are offered about every 6 weeks. Both at Children's Home Shelter for Family Safety and off-site.
Individual, couple and family counseling for issues related to trauma, abuse, relationships, unplanned pregnancy, adoption and parenting. Offers Telehealth counseling services for rural South Dakotans to have access to an outpatient therapist via smart phone, tablet or computer. Call to schedule a session via confidential/secure HIPAA compliant video technology. Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - can provide trainings, classes/groups or counseling for employees. Youth prevention program focuses on issues of addiction, violence, promiscuity, and suicide. Other programs include: Lakota Circles of Hope, Disaster Relief and Uplifting Parents.

Cancer Caregiver Support Program - Open to all caregivers who care for loved one with any type of cancer diagnosis. Cooperative Parenting and Divorce - Parents can learn the skills necessary to minimize difficulties for their children as their roles change from spouses to co-parents. The group is for divorcing parents who have children. Cost is $130.00 for 8 week course or (2) 4 week courses; includes the cost of workbook. Diabetes Support Group - Covers topics and support related to diabetes. Open to the patient and their family/significant other Infant Loss Support Group - 6 week series support group for families who are grieving the death of a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death. Foster Home Licensing
An incentive and education based program for limited income pregnant teens, women and families. The goal is to promote healthier pregnancies, healthier babies and an overall healthier community. Those who qualify and participate in the programs may earn teddy credits which can be exchanged for new baby items, such as baby clothes, blankets, bottles, highchairs and strollers. Volunteers work hands-on with the women enrolled in assisting them with registration, counting and spending their teddy credits or points, picking out new baby items and possibly carrying incentive items to their cars.

Works with a local animal clinic to provide safe shelter for pets. Each case is addressed individually and based on whether or not the clinic is able to house the animal or not.
