Support group for women who have witnessed or experienced violence in a relationship. These groups seek to provide support and feedback to women who have been emotionally, sexually, or physically abused in their relationships. Topics of discussion include: the dynamics of domestic violence, crisis issues caused by domestic violence, the impact of traumatic experiences on daily living, staying safe, self-esteem, and healthy relationships.The women's support groups are open and may be joined by anyone at any time. No pre-registration is required to attend and groups are offered free of charge.

​​Offers traditional medicines (flat cedar/hante sha; sage/pezi hota; sweetgrass/wacanga; bear root/mato heta;bitterroot/sinpetu; medicinal tea blends; homemade honey) spiritual guidance, smudging, and a warm and welcome space for relatives to come and talk. Also offers cultural activities throughout the week to take care of individuals spirit and keep connected to traditional Indigenous ways of life. Doors are always open for relatives needing to pray, sing, smudge or just talk. Mitakuye oyasin "we are all related". Offers a variety of culturally-centered activities. Inipi Inipi sweat purification ceremony is open to all Indigenous community members seeking spiritual connection, being mindful of those in attendance and taking care that all participants feel safe. Those who are on their moon time are respectfully asked to not attend. Community Inipi is open to men, women, children, Two-Spirit, and gender diverse community members seeking spiritual connection. Women's Inipi is open to all women, as well as Two-Spirit and non-binary community members who align with women's spiritual teachings. Positive Indian Parenting (PIP) PIP is an 8-week parent training class for Indigenous parents, caregivers, non-Native foster parents of Indigenous children, and others who strive to be more positive in their approach to parenting. PIP offers participants a structured exploration of traditional American Indian and Alaska Native values concerning parenting and helps participants apply those values in a modem setting. Red Road Approach (RRA) RRA groups offer a cognitive and experiential curriculum on Native American/Indigenous philosophies, activating the spirit for individuals, families, and communities. Participants will be guided through lessons on the impacts of alcohol and drugs on the mind, body, and spirit. This curriculum is a 10-week adult program that meets on a weekly basis. Incentives available for graduates of the program. Men's and Women's RRA groups offered. Therapeutic Sewing & Beading Join for coffee, laughter, and traditional craft-making! Open to the community, warm up with some coffee and work on beading and sewing with help from experts. Ašniyapi Ošpaye (Healing Family) Group (Sioux Falls) / Spiritual Group (Pierre) Join for a safe space for those seeking support, healing, and a time to connect with others in the community. Members will be guided through topics such as cultural values, language, and continued self-healing. All are welcome, as this group will be a place to foster empowerment through encouragement and education. Walking Group During the warmer months, we invite you to join SDUIH for a weekly walking group! Incentives available for group participants. Open to all fitness levels. Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Group Join the women's resiliency group to share and rebuild. The group will focus on building coping skills and resilience, covering depression, anxiety, trauma, and healthy relationships. All winyans (women) are welcome, regardless of tribal affiliation or race. Alcoholics Anonymous (Pierre Only) If you are experiencing substance use disorder (SUD), we invite you to join us each week in a confidential setting to share your experience and support other group members on your journey to recovery. Alcoholics Anonymous follows a 12-step program focusing on actions that guide members through their recovery journey by taking aim at admitting powerlessness over alcohol, seeking support, and making amends. Through sharing your lived experience, the goal is to achieve and maintain sobriety while helping others. This group will operate on the principle of anonymity, emphasizing confidentiality within the group to create a safe and non- judgmental environment for individuals seeking help. The group is an open yet confidential group. Anyone is welcome. No sign-up is necessary.

Provides support to individuals suffering from mental health issues, alcohol and drug abuse, child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and crime victimization. Support is also provided to individuals struggling with personality development and relationship issues. Therapists specialize in: - Individual, family, and group therapy - Play, art, and sand therapy - Marriage and relationship counseling - Treatment for depression, anxiety, and behavior issues - Trauma - Stress and anger management - Chemical dependency treatment and prevention - Level 1 alcohol and drug evaluation and treatment - Suicide crisis intervention - Treatment for youth with problematic sexual behaviors Additional Services - Parenting classes - Mind-Body workshops - Domestic violence program - Mental health consultations and trainings - Equine Assisted Therapy Group - Mental Health Evaluations - Child abuse survivor program Telehealth sessions available. Provides 24-hour shelter for domestic violence / sexual assault victims and their children. The purpose of this agency is to provide a safe, warm environment for individuals and families whose lives are impacted by violence in the home. Services include 24-hour hotline that is answered by trained advocates, Weekly domestic violence support group, Weekly parenting class (Common Sense Parenting), Education for clients on choices, Assistance is provided in obtaining a new home if needed, Assistance with Protection Orders and going to court proceedings, and River City Family Visitation Center. A domestic violence shelter that offers 24-hour crisis line for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Other services include support groups, court advocacy, shelter for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking along with their children, crisis counseling, cape crisis services, protection orders, supervised visitation, neutral exchanges, food pantry, Common Sense Parenting and Birth to Three Responsive Parenting classes, and life skills training. Works with a local animal clinic to provide safe shelter for pets. Each case is addressed individually and based on whether or not the clinic is able to house the animal.

Offers shelter and services for the victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault; with the goal to build self-esteem and confidence so they may live freely and independently as is their God-given right. Services include shelter, 24-hour hotline, food, transportation, counseling, assistance with housing search, assistance with job search, assistance with legal situations, and keeping all information confidential. ​Support group available for victims of abuse and sexual assault facilitated by a licensed counselor for those who have left the abuser, are still living with the abuser but need help to survive, and for those who need to know what to do next. Programs include Common Sense Parenting which is a step-by-step guide for raising responsible children and providing skills to help parents build strong, healthy families. Parenting classes can be arranged for non-English speaking people. Class times vary, call for information.
