A psychiatric hospital offering a wide range of services for geriatric, adult, adolescent, and child patients. This center approaches patient care with a special emphasis on trauma-informed care as well as biological, psychological, and social concerns.

• Inpatient Treatment: Available for patients ages 5 and older. All patients will be psychiatrically assessed and treated by a licensed and board-certified psychiatrist. Additionally, experienced nurses and patient care technicians provide individual specialized attention 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Inpatient Services: Specialized services include group and individual therapy, diagnostic testing, psychological evaluations, and family therapy. Recreational therapists provide a healing and therapeutic environment. Chemical Dependency Specialists perform detailed evaluations and treatment planning for patients struggling with addiction. Intensive case management is available to coordinate external services for the hospitalized patient. The hospital's clergy is available upon patient request or a patient's own spiritual leader is welcome to provide comfort. Hospitalization Process: If hospitalization is required, patients are provided a full physical examination and medical evaluation at the Rapid City Monument Hospital Emergency Department prior to hospitalization. Please proceed to the Emergency Department first or if emergent treatment is needed, call local law enforcement or 911. Outpatient Clinic: Offers individual and family counseling services for patients of all ages as well as psychiatric diagnostic interviewing and medication management for patients of all ages.

Serving clients 12 years of age and older on the topics of abuse, attention deficit / hyperactive disorder (ADD/ADHD), adoption, alcohol abuse, Asperger's syndrome, autism, behavioral issues, bipolar disorder, borderline personality, chronic impulsivity, codependency, coping skills, divorce, domestic abuse, domestic violence, dual diagnosis, eating disorders, family conflict, grief, infertility, infidelity, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), oppositional defiance (ODD), parenting, pregnancy, prenatal and postpartum, self-esteem, self-harming, sexual addiction, insomnia, weight loss, and women's issues. Treatment approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family systems therapy, marital therapy, interpersonal therapy, mindfulness based, motivational interviewing, and solution focused brief counseling. Individual and couples mental health and chemical dependency counseling to children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of issues including, but not limited to; depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), physical and or sexual abuse, trauma, chemical dependency and other addictions, co-occurring disorders, family issues, behavioral issues, relationship issues, sexual identity, adjustment disorders, career issues, adoption issues, attachment issues, personality disorders, stress management, women's issues, eating disorders, post traumatic stress (PTSD), and crisis prevention. Offers EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Telehealth sessions available. Also an LGBTQ+ friendly provider.

Substance abuse and mental health counseling for individuals. Issues to be addressed include, but are not limited to; depression, bipolar, substance abuse and addiction, anxiety, adjustment disorders, self-esteem, trauma, self injury, personality disorders, stress management, phase of life issues, grief, eating disorders, abuse, anger, co-occurring disorders, and relationships. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) technique available. Offers telehealth services; not all issues are appropriate to address through distance counseling. Videoconferencing available.

Individuals, couples, or families can receive specialized treatment for co-occurring issues of substance abuse/addictive disorders in conjunction with mental health conditions such as clinical depression, mood disorders and/or anxiety-based difficulties. Adult group programming for intensive outpatient treatment, early intervention, relapse prevention. Day and evening tracks are available for intensive outpatient treatment. Court-approved provider for chemical dependency assessments, counseling and treatment services. Adolescents can be seen for chemical dependency evaluations, individual therapy and aftercare group. ​Specialized counseling services available (individual, couples, family and group therapy) for pain management-related difficulties. Dual-credentialed therapists licensed in mental health and addictions. Telemedicine counseling services including CD assessments and individual therapy. Anyone can participate in this service. Accredited by the State of South Dakota as well as by the Joint Commission (JCAHO).
