A training designed to help caregivers see and meet the needs of children and youth from hard places. This model is based on three sets of interacting principles: connecting, empowering, and correction. This course moves from theory to practical application.

Provides the food vouchers, prescription expense assistance (medicine only), vision expense assistance (eyeglasses and contacts), and personal care items (laundry soap, cleaning supplies, and hygiene items). Please note, prescription assistance is for those without insurance and it is for one time only! Personal care assistance is once in a calendar year.

Investigates child abuse and neglect cases by working with the State's Attorney, law enforcement, and community resources to determine extent of alleged child abuse or neglect. Other services include adoptions, licensing of foster homes, assessment services, case management, and intensive family services. Food pantry serving strictly the Spearfish and St. Onge communities. Families are asked to remain in their vehicles and not enter the facility. Volunteers will gather the pertinent information and then deliver food items to vehicles. Services can only be used 1 time a month.

A faith-filled three-day retreat designed to provide compassionate support and spiritual consolation for parents, guardians, and children. This retreat includes fun and therapeutic activities for children (ages 6-17), guided discussions and support for parents and guardians, shared prayer and reflection, and holistic pastoral care.

Caseworkers work with women who are going through an unplanned pregnancy. Support services are available to clients at no-cost. Includes: options counseling, evidence-based decision making, adoption planning, adoption parent selection, parenting preparedness program & courses, before & after birth support, mental health counseling, Medicaid & WIC applications, transportation assistance, case management, job application & resume writing, help with difficult family or partner communication, community & state resource connection, and referrals related to housing, substance use, and domestic violence.

A public health nutrition program for income-eligible infants and children up to age 5, pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women. WIC provides nutrition education to help make healthy eating choices, breastfeeding education for expectant and new mothers looking to learn more about their infant nutrition options, referrals to connect families with quality medical care and other community services, and food benefits to help families purchase nutritious groceries at participating businesses statewide.

Medical assistance programs include: ​Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP): Coverage includes such things as doctor, hospital, prescription drugs, counseling, dental and glasses. Insurance for children up to age 19 at no cost to the family if the income is below certain income levels found on the Federal Poverty Guidelines. If the family income is below 140%, the children may be eligible with or without private health insurance. If there is insurance, CHIP will pay the deductibles, co-insurance, and possibly some medical services not covered by the private insurance. ​Medicaid: Health care coverage for people who qualify. To be eligible for Medicaid, individuals must fall into a coverage group and meet certain financial and non-financial eligibility criteria. Telecommunication Adaptive Devices: Provides adapted telecommunication services, which includes an emergency phone dialer. American's with Disabilities Act: Serves as educators and consultants for contractors, businesses, organizations, and individuals regarding the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and its guidelines and requirements. Assistive Daily Living Services: Provides services for people ages 18 and older, with physical disabilities affecting all four limbs, who need assistance with daily living activities. Services include program education and support and personal attendant services. Home Again South Dakota: Provides options for older adults and/or people with disabilities living in nursing homes, hospitals, or long-term care facilities to enable them to successfully return to their homes and communities. Helps individuals identify barriers to living on their own, helps them find a place to live that meets their needs, and helps them find the services and supports they need to continue living independently.
