A one-to-one mentoring program that supports Mitchell area families by providing youth with a caring adult who helps them navigate life. Volunteer mentors are matched with a mentee based on similar interests and personalities. BFLF has 3 different mentoring programs: ​Community-Based Mentoring: The volunteer mentor and their mentee meet in the evenings or weekends. Mentoring occurs for at least one hour per week for one year. ​School-Based Mentoring: The volunteer mentor and child meet at the child's elementary school during the school day for mentoring. Mentoring occurs for at least one hour per week for one school year. ​Mentor Mom: The Young Mom and Mentor Mom meet for mentoring at least one hour each week for a year.

Specialty care include: Audiology, Home Based Primary Care, Lab, Mental Health, Pharmacy clinical services, Physical Therapy, Primary Care, Social Work, and Nutrition. The following programs and specialty care are available by telehealth: Cardiology, Occupational Therapy, Chronic Health Management, Oncology, Dermatology, Orthopedics, Diabetes Management, Pain Management, Endocrinology, Pharmacy Services, Gastroenterology, Prosthetics/Orthotics, Genomic Medicine, Psychiatry, Infectious Disease, Pulmonary, Mental Health, Surgery (pre-op), Nephrology, Low Vision, Neurology, Urology, and Wound Care.​

Pharmacy services, vaccinations, and medical equipment/supplies are offered. All 3 locations serve as medication disposal sites.

Providing culturally relevant home-based support for American Indian families, including expecting moms, fathers, infants, and young children ages 3 - 5. The program includes home visits using evidence-based cultural lessons, helping families set goals to meet their needs, and providing screenings for parents and children.

Provides food to those who are food insecure in the Yankton School District through 2 programs: The Sack Pack Program provides packs on a weekly basis to school aged children in need of food over the weekend. Families register for Sack Pack at the beginning of the school year. The school staff help distribute the packs. The School Food Pantry is open to any families that are food insecure with children attending school in the Yankton school district. The pantry is open once a month usually on the 1st Tuesday of the month.

Encourages community connections through the arts by providing a supportive environment for awareness, appreciation, and participation.

The Office of Homeless Education facilitates the enrollment, attendance, and success of children and youth in transitional housing in the Sioux Falls School District. The term "homeless children and youth" is defined by law as individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence, including those who are sharing the housing of other persons; are living in motels, hotels, trailer parks, or campgrounds; are living in emergency or transitional shelters; are abandoned in hospitals; are awaiting placement in foster care; are living in cars, parks, public spaces, abandoned buildings, substandard housing, bus/train stations or similar settings; and migratory children living in the above circumstances. Referrals are made for assistance with various needs the student may have.

A free, relationship enrichment program open to the public. It serves individuals, couples, and families. The goal of the program is for participating adults to develop the skills they need to experience healthy relationships and improve their path toward financial wellness and employability. ​Relationship education and family support topics include: communication skill, controlling emotions, conflict resolution, making wise choices, setting life goals, mentorship, stress management, advocacy, and parenting strategies. ​Financial wellness/employability services include: financial literacy, job search assistance, money management, joint budgeting, interview practice, resume coaching, and job skills and interest assessments.

The Counseling Center offers the following services (all services based on eligibility and priority needs): Substance abuse services include screening, intake, evaluation, referrals, aftercare, primary prevention programs, education, MRT/SBISA classes, and group counseling. ​Mental health services include couples therapy, family therapy, individual therapy, group therapy, Education, Referrals, and Psychological evaluations and services.

Provides car seat installation and safety checks at any Sioux Falls Fire Station from 8:00am - 8:00pm (CT), Monday - Sunday. ​Individuals are encouraged to call 211 to register before arriving at a fire station.

A public health nutrition program for income-eligible infants and children up to age 5, pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women. WIC provides nutrition education to help make healthy eating choices, breastfeeding education for expectant and new mothers looking to learn more about their infant nutrition options, referrals to connect families with quality medical care and other community services, and food benefits to help families purchase nutritious groceries at participating businesses statewide.

Offering a food box program open to all. Please note - individuals must bring their own box or bag to put food in.

Clothe-A-Kid helps families obtain clothes for their kids. Participants earn clothing gift cards for a local store by graduating from the Life INC program. Participants must provide official documents providing guardianship of children ages 5 - 18. This is a year round program available during every Life INC session (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall).

SHIFT Garage repairs vehicles for those in need, services include; Repairs older model cars for low-income families and/or single parent homes for whom a full repair bill from a conventional garage is not affordable Budgeting classes to the public Free oil changes for the spouses of deployed soldiers Costs of parts plus a refundable $50.00 fee are due at time of service. The fee will be refunded when clients attend the budgeting class. Please note: Repairs are limited to mechanical issues. Tires are not serviced, transmissions and internal engine issues are not serviced.

A 24-hour residential and psychiatric treatment center serving emotionally disturbed and learning disabled children between the ages of 4-14. This program also provides special education services and intensive therapy for children and families who are experiencing difficulty at home, in school, or in the community. Services include day school and residential programs, evaluation services, family supportive services, consultation and training services. Madsen House is designed to provide comprehensive psychiatric diagnosis and assessments, as well as short-term treatment for children ages 4-14 with emotional and behavioral problems. Madsen House Intensive Unit is an eight-bed unit for children ages 4-14 who have severe or chronic emotional and behavioral disorders. Treatment includes psychiatric care, adaptive management, individual, group and family therapy and academic programming. Childcare teams consist of three counselors and one team coordinator, creating a ratio of one staff for every two children.

Medical assistance programs include: ​Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP): Coverage includes such things as doctor, hospital, prescription drugs, counseling, dental and glasses. Insurance for children up to age 19 at no cost to the family if the income is below certain income levels found on the Federal Poverty Guidelines. If the family income is below 140%, the children may be eligible with or without private health insurance. If there is insurance, CHIP will pay the deductibles, co-insurance, and possibly some medical services not covered by the private insurance. ​Medicaid: Health care coverage for people who qualify. To be eligible for Medicaid, individuals must fall into a coverage group and meet certain financial and non-financial eligibility criteria. Provides help for older adults and people with disabilities.

Provides individual counseling services working with clients ages 14 and up with autism spectrum, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, attachment disorders, relationship issues, grief and loss. Services include individual counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), adolescent/youth counseling, parent counseling, and internet (tele-health) counseling.

Provides home care and nursing services to anyone 18 years or older who needs assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) due to illness, injury, disability, or aging. Services take into consideration spiritual, physical and emotional needs. Provides assistance to individuals with varying abilities to live as independently as possible through home care services, companion care, personal care, and in-home nursing care.

Focuses on supporting people through grief/loss, life transitions, mental health challenges, and family conflict. The therapy process offers the ability to process situations that may be difficult while also giving clients the ability to learn new skills that improve their daily lives and relationships. Other areas of training or expertise include ADHD, Austim Spectrum Disorder, miscarriage and infertility, and women's issues.
