Responsive parenting classes are designed for parents of children 3 years and younger. The free "Understanding Me Up to Age 3" 4-week series focuses on development and learning in the early years, understanding a child's temperament, and balancing the stress and joy of parenting.

A psychiatric hospital offering a wide range of services for geriatric, adult, adolescent, and child patients. This center approaches patient care with a special emphasis on trauma-informed care as well as biological, psychological, and social concerns.

• Inpatient Treatment: Available for patients ages 5 and older. All patients will be psychiatrically assessed and treated by a licensed and board-certified psychiatrist. Additionally, experienced nurses and patient care technicians provide individual specialized attention 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Inpatient Services: Specialized services include group and individual therapy, diagnostic testing, psychological evaluations, and family therapy. Recreational therapists provide a healing and therapeutic environment. Chemical Dependency Specialists perform detailed evaluations and treatment planning for patients struggling with addiction. Intensive case management is available to coordinate external services for the hospitalized patient. Hospitalization Process: If hospitalization is required, patients are provided a full physical examination and medical evaluation at the Rapid City Monument Hospital Emergency Department prior to hospitalization. Madsen House is designed to provide comprehensive psychiatric diagnosis and assessments, as well as short-term treatment for children ages 4-14 with emotional and behavioral problems. Madsen House Intensive Unit is an eight-bed unit for children ages 4-14 who have severe or chronic emotional and behavioral disorders. Treatment includes psychiatric care, adaptive management, individual, group and family therapy and academic programming. Childcare teams consist of three counselors and one team coordinator, creating a ratio of one staff for every two children.

Intensive, non-residential treatment program providing services to children who meet the states' Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED) criteria and would not be successful in less restrictive services. A counselor along with family, individuals supporting the family, and professionals will develop a customized treatment plan which will assist in meeting the needs of the child and family. Services provided to program participants include 24-hour crisis assistance, counseling services, chemical dependency screenings and assessments, case management, dedication management, psychiatric services, classes and workshops on mental health topics, early childhood mental health services, and play therapy for children ages 0 to 5. Some therapies offered in this program include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), and Aggression Replacement Therapy (ART).

Offering a clothing assistance program for citizens returning to the community from prison. Men and women who are within one month of being released from prison may receive three sets of clothing, including shirts, pants, underwear, socks, shoes/work boots, sweatshirt, and more. Prison Transition Backpacks that are full of helpful re-entry resources will be given to each person transitioning out of prison.

Community-based counseling center that provide a wide range of social and psychological services, including professional readjustment counseling to eligible Veterans, active duty service members, including National Guard and Reserve components, and their families. Bereavement services for family members is also available. Readjustment counseling is offered to make a successful transition from military to civilian life or after a traumatic event experienced in the military. Investigates child abuse and neglect cases by working with the State's Attorney, law enforcement, and community resources to determine extent of alleged child abuse or neglect. Other services include adoptions, licensing of foster homes, assessment services, case management, and intensive family services.
