Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) is a supplemental food program that enables eligible households to obtain a more nutritious diet. Eligibility is determined by income, resources, and household size. Lost, stolen, or damaged EBT (SNAP) cards must call customer service to report the loss of your card. You will need to enter the card number. If you do not have the card, stay on the line for a second prompt and press 2. Reporting an EBT card as lost, stolen, or damaged will result in that card being declined.

The Connection Center is a place for people in the community to call in and feel heard. Connection Center volunteers help assess the needs of the caller and are able to provide a referral to the most appropriate help source. Once their need is verified and understood more fully, participants work side-by-side with church volunteers. The end goal is that once their resource or need is met, they have a relationship built and they feel like they have strength to step out of their situation.
The Connection Center coordinates the following programs within Love INC and ministries from partner churches:
Furniture: Couches, mattresses, bed frames, dressers etc. Furniture Ministry Team helps with pick-ups and deliveries.
Some volunteer service required to receive furniture.
Household items provided as available.
Linens: Items provided as available. Includes bedding sheets and blankets.

Provides emergency assistance for those in either Minnehaha/Lincoln County with rent and deposits, Utility bills: Must have a disconnect notice for water, lights, or heating; Food and non-food items, Burial: Clients should begin by choosing a funeral home and meet with them prior to applying for assistance through Minnehaha County. Also provides transportation assistance, dental care, medical care (hospitalization) and Medications.
Minnehaha County residents can also receive assistance with Shelter, Gasoline or bus ticket for transients/nonresidents stranded here and needing to get home. Out of town travel assistance is not offered to MC residents. Identification and or birth certificate (if needed for the purposes of obtaining employment/housing).
The majority of assistance provided is in the form of a no-interest loan for which a lien is created. The client does not receive any bill from County but is expected to repay the debt, starting in a time frame created by the caseworker.
Applicants can choose to walk-in to the office or receive a phone call to complete an interview. Those applying for transportation, medications or ID/BC assistance should come into the office to apply.

Birthparent Counseling Program provides options counseling to assist birth parents who are in an unintended/crisis pregnancy in reaching decisions regarding their futures and the future of the child. Services to birth parents are free of charge. Services are available anywhere in South Dakota, LSS can travel to meet with birth parents.
Parenting and adoption options are explored:
If parenting is the decision, the counselor will assist in setting up community resources.
If adoption is the decision, the birth parent can choose from adoptive parent profiles, including pictures and information about the family.
The birthparent also can choose what degree of openness they want in the adoption plan. LSS does provide both open and closed/confidential adoption.
The purpose of this program is to assist birthparents in reaching a permanent plan for themselves and their child.
Adoption Program provides options for those desiring to pursue having a family, including Infant Domestic Program and International Adoption Program.
Training and Home Study Services are provided prior to placement of a child.

The Health Cooperative is here to partner with patients to stay healthy and meet their health goals. An inter-professional team is available to offer early evaluations of adult health concerns. Also provides personalized self-care education that will assist patients in making healthier choices. This is not a replacement for a primary care doctor. Works alongside patients and their doctors to improve patient health. Team consists of registered nurses, a pharmacist, an occupational therapist, a physical therapist and a dietitian.

A 24-hour residential and psychiatric treatment center serving emotionally disturbed and learning disabled children between the ages of 4-14. This program also provides special education services and intensive therapy for children and families who are experiencing difficulty at home, in school, or in the community. Services include day school and residential programs, evaluation services, family supportive services, consultation and training services.
Madsen House is designed to provide comprehensive psychiatric diagnosis and assessments, as well as short-term treatment for children ages 4-14 with emotional and behavioral problems.
Madsen House Intensive Unit is an eight-bed unit for children ages 4-14 who have severe or chronic emotional and behavioral disorders. Treatment includes psychiatric care, adaptive management, individual, group and family therapy and academic programming. Childcare teams consist of three counselors and one team coordinator, creating a ratio of one staff for every two children.
